Killing Floor

L4D too slow and repetitive? Looking for something more intense? Want to blow the shit out of the hordes with 2 Desert Eagles instead of running for your life?
Killing Floor might be the game for you.
It's cheap, runs on an old engine so you don't need a monster PC to play it, and it's fun as hell. Once a mod for UT2004, Killing Floor is set in the UK and puts you and 5 of your friends against the shambling masses not only to survive, but to eliminate. Use weapons ranging from a 9mm pistol to a LAW rocket launcher to send the failed experiments of the military into oblivion. Choose one of 6 classes to rank up, or work on them all. With each new level you get new perks like enhanced damage with a specific weapon, or increased ability with healing or welding doors shut, or carrying more equipment, etc. This allows you to play at higher difficulties and defeat bosses easier. Since it's on the old UE2.5 engine there should also be plenty of custom mods and maps and updates coming along to keep gameplay fresh.
If you end up getting it, I'd be glad to play with you. My Steam ID is PAKSoldat.

Was looking at it, watched some broadcasts on Xfire. But idk it just looks strange, and from what i saw people just want to run around and shoot everything. Not really any tactics, kind of the same thing on L4D when CS players join...just rush and shoot.

People that rush around don't last long. Though they might if they've ranked their perks up enough, which takes a while. The objective is to kill every enemy and the maps don't really have an exit or single focal point. At the start of the round you gotta make it to the trader and fend off the first wave with your sidearms, then you can use accumulated cash to buy equipment. After each wave the trader will let you buy stuff then she leaves and shows up somewhere else once the wave is defeated.
99% of the time people stick together and barricade entrances so they don't get annihilated. There are a few special enemies that are significantly tougher than the others that will **** your day up if you don't have help.
Lots of teamwork so far from what I've seen. Healing yourself isn't nearly as effective as being healed by someone else, you can share money so they can buy better stuff from the trader, and there's just no chance if you get split up without some kind of plan/organization.

L4D > KF. If you have a bad computer, take this. Or, if you would prefer scary gameplay over great overall gameplay, take this. But, I'm still for L4D. <3

I was told that the game still seems like a mod and not worth the $15(if preordered)/$20.
I'm debating if I wanna buy it or not.. then again others say it's an awesome game.

KF isn't scary it's just intense.
Gameplay is miles ahead of L4D's run to the exit crap. There's actual teamwork, it's not just stick together and do the same crap over and over again.
Anyone that tells you it's not worth $15 is talking out his ass.

There's no 360 version is it?
No way my mom is letting me play this game on the PC.

No 360, get L4D if you want to play a zombie game on the 360.

I have bioshock for the ps3, it's fu.cking amazing. cheap too, but it doesn't have multiplayer, that's coming in the second one though (Pretty sure at least)
I was looking at this KF game while I was buying L4D for my PC, but idk.. I just can't play a game with so-so graphics anymore. Especially online, I'd never be able to play TF2.
I'll stick with L4D til I see something amazing from this game

SDK pack is out for L4D.. at least a beta one. Meaning custom maps and usermade maps are the usually the best.
L4D when it was on the sale for $24 or $25 = win right there.

I would buy L4D if it had a damn server list.

Got it for $24

crim.. it has a serverlist if you join a group. Join the official L4D steam group and you'll have a ton of servers to pick from.

Just got this game, well it's cool but something is wrong, atleast on my computer it doesn't run smoothly, and it's a new machine, so it makes no sense.
