I'm just wondering, why do people hate it?
PS: I never played the game.

Lol I never played it but I don't hate it either. My cousin told me he hates the game because whenever he went to a computer rental shop (in another country), he gets annoyed by loitering, loud, rude DOTA bums (unemployed college dropouts and HS failures who play games-usually either DOTA, Ragnarok, or Counter Strike all day). Usually computer shop bums have a nasty habit of looking at people's screen (I mean really watch) out of boredom and ignorance of how annoying they are.

That's why he hates DOTA.

I play it but I hate it because it is the most played game, where other games do not get as much as attention. So there is little else to play on Warcraft besides a few other games that are also popular.

Do that many people actually hate dota? Never realized..Its an ok game but mayb cos a lot of people use hacks? I dunno

As a former Warcraft 3 modder, err... forget it.

I only play it with my rl friends on lan shops.. even though I hate that freaking map.

I dont hate dota, but the majority people that play it are complete dickheads.

I love DoTA, but not knowing what I'm doing is why I'd hate it too. But thats a personal thing which you just need to learn how to get better. Of course rather then admit they're not good or need to learn, its easier for people to just say a game sucks or they hate it.

I think the design of the game is awesome, but ya people are too harsh on the newbs they first time I played people yelled at me for not knowing what to do like I"m suppose to know all the recipes and stuff, then 2 of them left because of my incapability as a teammate.

no, DOTA is one of those games where theres only a few elite members who think they are BA because they are so good at something almost nobody cares about. It isn't because your too dumb to learn the game, its because all the people who play it are full of shit. Nobody wants to hang out with jerks

I love DotA. o_O DotA is a game about strategy. But, if you don't know how to play, you would be flamed and harassed.

well yeah, that definately doesnt help either. I wasnt quite motivated to learn the game cause i dont recall a single person who wasn't an ass.

oh yea lmao..i remember first time i ever played i got told off sooo bad cos i was "feeding" them lol. They were so mean to me

I'd say the majority play public games..Lots of losers who leave games which in most cases ruin the game entirely. Actually almost every game you will have a leaver because people are such assholes, in fact the community is so lame there are banlists with well over 50,000 people on them. The game is heavily team/strategy based so you can imagine what happens when someone fucks up. The public community fails and I'd say that's why many people dislike the game.

Though when the community doesn't completely fail..it is spectacular.

Dumbo :> i think were the only1's that heard of that song... I use to spam that so much like 2 years ago when ppl begged for me to play that song (on css with hlss)...

Never actually played Dota but rts games are fun...
