console games on pc?

ok so now that i dont play silkroad anymore cuz joymax is noob...
my friend told me that you can play console games like n64 and super nintendo games on the computer...
does anyone know if this is true... and if it is, is it legal?
if yes and no answers plz link me!!!

don't you need like an emulator or stuff like that? but most console games are not for PC, and there's a reason for that, just stick with your PC games, there're plenty to go around

You can play console games on the PC* using emulators, though it is illegal unless you have the game itself.

I've downloaded many emulators and none of them worked. Recently got one that works from a friend, though I still didn't play it. :/
Now for the games.. I'm sure I have some left from my PS1 era.

Right now i have NES, SNES and N64 emu, they all work fine for me.

yea i read that you must have the actual console and the game for you to play...
i downloaded some that im sure i have the games for... im just to lazy to go dig them out of the boxes from the garage... xD
i have like 4 boxes full of video games back from my nintendo phase... damn good times... xD
