1. You can only trade during 6am-1pm Pacific (operating hours for NYSE) <-- yes, this game is based off of real life

1a*. I believe you can trade off-hours but at an unknown price

2. After you are got into any game, go to "Make a trade", a pop-up comes up

3. It asks you for a symbol, you can type in a company name (which the exchange symbol will come up). Click GO

4. Just follow the instructions, they are simple to follow. If you are new, you can choose BUY or SELL and just input the number of stocks you want.

4a* Buy - you buy low, sell high; Short - you sell someone else's stocks out at a high price, then BUY TO COVER, you buy the stock back at a lower price.

Eg. SRF is at 30 bucks, but I think it will soon drop down to 20 bucks. So I SHORT SRF at $30, when it does drop to $20, i'll BUY TO COVER the same number of SRF shares back and earn $10 per share.

5. Wait 20mins for your "order" to process.

Wow that's ironic. I was talking to a friend about doing something like this.

I used http://www.investopedia.com/ though. We did it back in High School and it was so much fun.

Invested in NIX and NaSDQ.

So far ive invested in

Apple INC.
Sony CORP.
Coca-Cola Bottling co consolid.

And I just invested 18k in 300 shares of McDonalds.

Coke was a bad investement, just sold all but a 100 shares. Keeping those so I can see when/if it starts going up.

Yes sir, it was in the green and at +15.35

We played a pseudo stock market game in highschool. they based the prices on real stock market values. Our group lost a crapload of money because we didn't sell Halliburton stocks while they were up.

you know why people buy index funds right? mostly due to its low management fees (which the game has none), you aint going to lead anyone because the composite index is all about being in the middle
