English Patch
6. Is there a working English patch?

- YES! Download here

Go to your chinese aion folder/L10N

1. Copy the CHS folder in the same directory and name it ENU
2. Download the file, and place it in the folder L10N
3. Make sure your regional setting are not chinese but english (don't know if it makes a difference if your regional settings are something else)

You have to set your regional settings to English (US) and region to United States!
Works. Tested. (thx to kakashigr!!!)

Account creation - http://register.sdo.com/register.asp?from=78&zone=web

*note* after you fill that out and confirm the link in your email ,you have to update some information, name/CID etc..
You can also play without a CID but you will only get 5 hours worth of XP and loot, so after that you get nothing
*note*

step 1 : Fill this page out(Optional)
http://pwd.sdo.com/ptinfo/PTInfo/FillAdultInfo.aspx
Top Box = Name:
Bottem = CID:

step 2 http://pwd.sdo.com/ptinfo/PTInfo/FillInfo.aspx(Optional)
i cant get to this page anymore but use a translator to see what goes where.

changing game font to chinese characters(do this only if the english patch didnt work for some reason) (will be hard to find the right server without it) http://www.aionsource.com/forum/chinese-open-beta-discussion/12554-tips-chinese-obt-cbt-game-client.html

wow.. thats un usual then O.o it took me about 4 hours to dl off the http links. i can see if i can upload them to filefront or somthing if enough people want

EDIT: just tried the http links again, got around 90kb .. which is pretty slow but alot better than 0.6kb lol.

also i hear the torrent is slower than the http links so i dont recommend that

Yeah i tried through torrent but was going too low I guess there isn't enough seeders atm. I've tried the http links and the highest I get on that is like 50kb/s which is over a day just to download 1 part. I'll wait for someone to upload it to gamershell or something which would be much faster for me.

If you do decide to dl it let's me now! You and your Aion thread are the only reasons I even consider the game $15 or not. :P

hmm not really. the 2nd part of the account creation is just to verify its an adult account. you CAN play without it but you only get 6hours? worth of xp. took me about 10 mins for the whole thing :)

i stopped last night 60% threw part 1, at my rate it was going to take 3-4 days to dl everything, then have to make an account and what not, only to play for an unknown amount of time before they impose p2p. or end beta, either one.
