uck my life but most people who know me in SRO would know I never used and never will use illegal 3rd-party programs. Today, North American Cabal (OGP) decided to start relying on an automatic 3rd-party program detection tool, to help them catch and ban potential hackers for their first anniversary. Banning bots sounded like an excellent idea except for one problem, they banned dozens of innocent players. Even though X-trap has been known and even acknowledged by OGP to have numerous bugs and errors that ranges from disconnecting players to reporting them for hacking after detecting MSN/Mozilla/AVG or other programs. As a result, a handful of long-time players in NA Cabal are swarming the forums demanding OGP to correct this obvious flaw in decision-making. OGP however refuses to remove the ban on anyone despite their lack or complete absence of evidence against the accused hackers.
In addition, the "sweeping program" even sent out messages to the banned players that they have been banned for swearing/cussing, which OGP admitted is a bug but would not do anything to correct it; nor would they provide anymore information as to why these players were banned except for a vague explanation that it has something to do with 3rd-party programs or billing issues. No evidence will be provided and any inquiries will not be entertained anymore.
Looks like most gaming companies are following Joymax's excellent role model quality example.
