lol well ok...i guess your still one of those people who think that the
360 or PS3 is doing better then the Wii.
You may not like the Wii or DS and you may even think that they are childish
and gimicky...but its short sided and stupid to not recognize that Nintendo is
dominating gaming.
They are currently the only one of the top 3 (Microsoft, Nintendo & Sony) to be
making huge amounts of money in the recession and not facing huge loses and job
cuts. They make more money then any other publisher in the world, sell more software
then any other publisher and more hardware, and currently have more 3rd party
publishers developing games for them.
So there not a dominate force how then???
funny this isnt it. Post something about Sony or Microsoft and everyone bends over backwards
to agree...yet post about Nintendo and your suddenly a fanboy
lol how sad.
This was a post about the top 20 selling games of all time. I think Nantosh hit
the nail on the head so to speak.

That's why there are no xbox/ps games in there (ps3) because Nintendo is the oldest on the gaming market.

Nintendo is leading sales, but anywho, a lot of these games are for little kids. I dont really care much for a lot of the games listed there.
Theyre a dominate force, only in the G-rated family division.

All these pokemon games, and Wii fit? People who buy wii-fit are the middle age parents with the vision of losing weight. A lot of the Wii games seem gimicky, Wii music for instance.
A high amount of sales isnt exactly relative to the quality of the game.
Note how there's not a single Xbox, or Xbox 360 game on there, and not a single PS3 game on there.

You obviously made this list to tell everyone that nintendo>ALL. You were the first one to mention how one console is > another console in this topic. Come on srsly, your a fanboy. Its obvious to everyone.

rek, understand that not everyone has the same thought process as yourself, though undoubtedly thanks to the environment here, you may feel as much. This is, by and large, a gaming community, simply put anyways, consisting of a good deal of elite gamers, or something of the like. A definition going around for elite gamers would prove something along the lines that you are a minority, be it in skill level as well as populous. Nintendo is simply reaching out to a new demographic the other major two VG companies have yet to properly utilize; and in effect, by doing it well, capture a large amount of profit, as well as a new POS to target further.
You don't actually have to say you like their games, as I myself don't care for them much anymore (though thanks mostly to a fall out of gaming in general), but their astonishing track record must prove their doing something right. Surprisingly, I think Nintendo is letting Sony/Micro go for you guys. They've in general lost interest in this demographic, anything hardcore that is. They see more promise elsewhere maybe? Probably. Seeing as that insight has pushed them up and beyond the recession comparatively to the rest.

I dont think they were
ever seriously setting their sights on the hardcore gamer audience with titles like mariokart and so on.
With the Wii, they will never fit into the hardcore gaming genre, not because they've lost interest, but imo because they cant. The whole motion sensing remote thing just doesnt suit fps games or rpg's, which make a majority of the hardcore gaming genre. Its more of a minigame thing, family orientated. I own one myself and i see my little sister having the time of her life playing that warioware game(a compilation of minigames that litterally last around 3-20 seconds each).
Families were waiting for a console like this, where nearly all the games are aimed at the whole family fun theme so it was actually worth getting for the kids. They make up a huuge portion of the market, you cannot look at these sales statistics and deny that; so GG to Nintendo for giving it to them.
I never said i hated the games, i wouldnt have one if i did.
btw;
rek, understand that not everyone has the same thought process as yourself
Where did u get the impression i was speaking for everyone?

Well, i have a DS and it's fun at times and my sister has a Wii which i play from time to time, but i also have a 360 and i much prefer it.
Most of the games on the list are not something i'd be interested in, and like many of Nintendo's games, are aimed at younger audiances while PS3 and 360 have games aimed at 16+ players.
Just because the games you listed have the highest sales figures, doesnt mean they are the best or even the most popular. I know for a fact that Nintendogs is something most parents bought for their kids at christmas, and wernt bought my the consumer themselves, which to be honest makes the "Top 20" chart void. The only reason the parents bought it is because its Nintendo name branded (The name... Nintendo(gs) )

And you won't let any chance slip to let the world know how great Nintendo is, and you keep awfully quiet about
Nintendo's bloopers. If they were really that great, everyone had a Wii AND a DS and Sony and Microsoft already gave up on their own consoles.

That's the only thing you noticed? I was more surprised about how games like Nintendogs, WiiPlay and the Brain Train games sold so much copies, while they're not really games for the 'hardcore' gamer.
