Bought a new video card to play it. Didn't play it much as I don't have time for now. Waited for this game so long.. And gotta say, I'm satisfied with it for now. played it for just about 30 minutes, don't know what to think yet. Xfire doesn't support it yet, so I got just one screenshot (printscreen). Didn't change any video options so disregard the choppiness.

The game seems fun, can't wait to play it some more. The battle system is about 50 times easier then in earlier parts.
Those scaring/surprising moments are there again, my problem is whenever I react my stomach hurts, lol.
I suggest play the game, it's cool.

Got another review at the game:

The camera(ing) is much, much easier then in other parts. Already said, the battles are much easier too, but every, and I mean every enemy is annoying in his own way: one is faster then you, other blocks your attacks, third one rips you in halves.. I just want to chop them, and they don't let me. There are places you need to think a bit, but nothing too brainwrecking for now.

The storyline is.. ok, but too simple (at least for now). The guy you're controlling, even though he's a soldier and all, he's a wimp ass. He just acts so wimpy.

The atmosphere is awesome, reminds me very much of SH1, you'll see why. The music is brainwashing, damn awesome.

Any SH fan will love the game, play it. Don't read some silly gaming reviews, and listen to me!

I still have sh origins and this one to play xD I have 38 games I bought over the last 2 years and haven't played >___< Yes I know thats bad..

But Silent Hill has always been my top favorite series. Loved 2 and 4 was just creepy as hell (Prolly cause it wasn't meant to be a silent hill game originally)

Just beaten the game, though I don't like to run through a game. Next will be Hard mode.

The game's awesome. A bit different fighting system (someone finds it annoying, I don't care much though, it's easier). GREAT STORY! The most important thing for me is filled, the story is damn awesome. There are not much dramatic scenes like in SH2 though. There are a few brainkillers, and I'm damn proud of doing them myself, without finding a solution on the internet..

@Sacchy: Silent Hill's been one of my favorites over a long time too. I played SH when I was 7, I'm sure you can play SH5 now. Did that help?

Wow 7 years old huh? I think I was around 16. lol yeah it helped. I always loved the stories and the fact it wasn't a quick shoot em up run like RE (don't get me wrong, RE has a place in my heart). I think I should play Origins before Homecoming, don't you think? I will be so pissed if my tv makes the text illegible =.=

Have you ever read the comics? The one with the chick and her weird evil little sister is kinda blah.

Heheh. Don't know about Origins, haven't played it. And no, I haven't read the comics.. Didn't know they exist.. On that note, haven't even watched the movie.

Gasp! You must play ALL the games! Origins is for ps2 ya know ;D The comics are pretty bad and have nothing to do with the games, also the artwork is like mush and messy. The movie had awesome special effects but they butchered the story and added Pyramid Head when he has nothing to do with SH1 as he is "James' personal punisher". And since James isn't in 1...yeah >.> There is gonna be a second Silent Hill movie.

Don't have PS2 anymore. And I haven't played SH3 either, didn't have a good computer at a time. Gotta play the whole series, including the ones I played.

Btw, is Dead Space any good? I heard it's similar.

Dead Space is awesome. Play I demand you do so. The animated movie is like a Hanna Barbara cartoon with horrible voice acting and gore. I encourage you to stay far far away from it. They should have made it anime'd.

Hmm it makes me think of Bioshock. More sci-fi though. Aliens and what not. Since they use alot of dead humans as hosts and stuff it also makes me think of "The Thing". Not quite SH like but still good
