Anyone whom has played both, care to shed some light on the subject?
I've heard PES fails miserably this year, which is also reflected in all the reviews i'm reading.

yea PES is HUGH fail
i played both FIFA09 and PES09 (wii, 360) well FIFA09 on the Wii is ok, not as good
as the 360 version but both games are more realistic, everything flows more evenly
and it really does look like a football game.
where as PES09 is just bad, i mean no changed from 08, if anything i think its gotten
worse and its game style and pacing is outdated.

Bought PES9 yesterday ... Farking amazing.
So many small details that are brilliant. Dribbling with the ball is brilliant, the corssing system isn't static like fifa. Errr, when you're all up for a corner just run one of your guys into the net. Farking hilarious to see the players go mental when they are caught in the net. Keepers saves, headers ...everything very nicely done.
There's only a few things I hate about PES9 atm ... and that's the Farking commentry. Either I played it wayyyyy too long allready ( Non stop since yesterday ) or the commentry is bloody repetitive. Or, it goes all buggy. I get a penalty ... score ... get on with the match. Concieve a corner .. and then for some reason Mark Lawrenson finds it neccessary to comment on my fucking penalty. Fuck him. And the fact that 80% of the clubs are incorrectly named / wrong emblems. Patches are ocming, and KONAMI just obtained new licenses ... but yeah sometimes it's annoying.
But yeah, deff PES9 > Fifa09.

lol no no....PES is coming more and more arcadey, its not realistic at all...which is
what it was praised for in the first place...if anything when you play FIFA 09 teams
and players play like they should.
in PES09 everyone is the same.

Nope, same as in fifa. The known people in footie have been modelled ... not everyone.

the only thing PES90 has on fifa this year is the fact that FIFA always has random ass star players from the USA, Mexico, and...ronaldinho.
what the f*ck are they high on? the USA and Mexico play in the CONCACAF which is by far the absolute weakest football confederation on earth (mexico just lost to jamaica..). Not only that but the only player that is decent in either the USA or Mexican squad would be Landon Donovan, and he ..... sux.
and Ronaldinho? that guy is over with. After watching him in the 2006 world cup everyone saw the true light, Barca made him good, he wasn't good to begin with and Kaka was clearly the star of brazilian football.
at least PES chooses Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as their cover/feature men, although ronaldo is a pu$$y i have the utmost respect for Messi who should get fifa player of the year this year.
Fifa 09 is faster paced this year, too many people complained about that in the past which made PES more fun to play. It's especially evident in be a pro seasons, the game speed is a lot faster now.
I can't see any flaws in fifa09, I haven't played PES09 but it would be very hard to top FIFA's online options, be a pro season, and vast amount of teams/gameplay modes.
Whats still pissing me off about fifa is they have the german league, turkish league, korean league, the MLS, etc and no Argentine league? I'm argentine, we have some of the most talented players in the world (Messi, Tevez, Aguero, Heinze, Riquelme, All of Inter Milan, etc basically our whole squad) but most of them started here in our home country and made the Apertura what it is today. Not only that but Boca Juniors, River Plate, Velez Sarsfield, Independiente etc have won world club titles, intercontinental titles, etc, Boca Juniors being a perennial contender and is in the top5 as of right now (they lost to AC Milan last year in the final 4-2). Would it really cost them that much to add in a couple more player models and names? Not only that, but one of their video interviews featured an ARGENTINE software engineer and game designer :
gamespot :

ive overplayed it, giving me a couple days rest.
but honestly, give argentina some props and stop putting the irish league, polish league, etc.
id want the full argentina league, not 2 teams under 'Rest of World'

In this case, they are talking about soccer not American football. Everywhere except North America calls soccer football.

Watched the vid, couldn't help but laugh at the irony of an argentinian guy with the national shirt talking about the Emotion engine. And then at the end him talking about his favourite team in the argentinian league. Yet not being able to play with it T_T.
