I was trying to think of IGNs and my wife said something about Pepto. I typed it jokingly, thinking it would ask if I'm sure I want to use it. It didn't. I need a better IGN.

Well I'm not sure how much my wife and I will actually play. We wanted to at least check the game out and see if we actually have any time to play. Maybe we'll play for an hour or so at night before bed certain nights or something. If I can think of another IGN before I get too high level, I'll get rid of my current one. We're PeptoFTW and xxZORAxx.

Although, to be fair, you should play the character up to that point to get a good feel for the game. Then if you've made mistakes in the build or don't like it, just play when you can, and meditate/esper the rest.

Although, to be fair, you should play the character up to that point to get a good feel for the game. Then if you've made mistakes in the build or don't like it, just play when you can, and meditate/esper the rest.

I guess I'm just not used to the bot way of thinking, but I understand espering and meditating are a part of this game, and it's all legit. I'm used to SRO where I always had to battle for an hour or 8 trying to log in, and then do everything by hand, while battling against 3,000+ other characters that are not doing it that way, just to get anywhere in the game. This meditate/esper thing is just a different way of thinking I'm not used to.

I guess I could log on my computer downstairs, create a character, and meditate/esper him up to lvl 150 and then enjoy.

Nope, after level 90, you'll esper a lot less, since it'll take 1 point per second to esper. Each stone is 5000 points so 83 minutes per stone. Meditating slows down substantially the higher you get.

KS'ing is still somewhat present, but there are so many areas you just move and keep fighting. Plus, the quest rewards are so much higher it's not quite like grinding. There are quests in every town at the dispatcher that you can do over and over again - in some cases you get stuff that you can turn in that allows access to another quest.

I think they actually did a good job at balancing it so you will level quickly if you want to. But there are events that take place that may require a party (like Astral) and events like books or fishing that reward you with gold or items. And you can earn honor and special faction weapons too. All for free, although you have to play a lot to get gold.

On the other hand, you can meditate your way through the game if you just leave it running and play an hour or two, but you won't get a good feel for it. Also, it's more fun to join a guild and listen to Hostage expound about - well, darn near anything

And Crim sitting on my dead char's face...yeah, yeah, I ran out of pots! lol

Anyway, ask around, I have not "played" much, I just esper and med when I can, and occasionally I have the chance to actually run the char myself. It's still fun though, because every time you grind on mobs, you still could die - matter of fact, espering is MUCH different than the way I play. To maximize XP return I usually esper using one or two skills - the esper itself and a heal. Otherwise you burn through pots like no tomorrow.

Bleh, I'm rambling now. Sorry. Give it a day or two, you may like it. It does take some getting used to the botting being supported in Jade Dynasty, though.

Well I went through a couple name changes, and now I have a new name in Jade Dynasty.

fyi, just do mandatory quests to progress through the game
and do dispatcher quests for lots of exp, and clan quests
do any side quests for a bit of extra exp and titles

really worth the effort imo. i get like 260k xp from
a dispatcher quest, while 1,25mil is 5%. after lvl
60, it's better to set your esper for a sleepless
quest than dispatcher

only reason I do dispatchers is to get the stones so I can do the special ops quest. Otherwise, I get them and do them as I esper overnight. It works out to be about 2% more exp <shrug>

I'm curious how you do that. Every time I've tried that, Sleepless takes precedence and I get nothing on the other quests.

dispatcher quests aka "Trial Quests" are from the dispatcher, pick the ones where you gotta kill x amount of mobs or obtain x amount of objects from mobs you grind on.

I'm curious how you do that. Every time I've tried that, Sleepless takes precedence and I get nothing on the other quests.

you stack these 2 together by being in a party, as long as you are in a party you will get kill for both.
