nvidia's bracket. Also my first opponent on Thursday at 8PM central is a 210 wins diamond random player on Shakuras Plateau. Hmm.. Keep in mind I rarely play and it's mostly custom games. ranked bronze last season with like 15 games in total. 0 this season. It's go time.

Spoiler!

I think I'm fine. I'll see what happens after my first match. I'll just probably cheese the random guy before he cheeses me which I'm most likely sure he'll do.

-edit-

My first match

0-2

Not surprised of the results though. The guy has 220 diamond wins.

More than 4 gates and you're pushing your luck. If your opponent played it safe, you would get behind on economy.

1 base can support 4 gate. 2 base can support 0-8 if you think logically although a 2 base push is usually done on 6 gate with twilight, 7 for all in or 8 for some crazy all in.

I misread the guy's question. Once your 2nd base is up, it entirely depends on your opponent, unless you want to dictate the where the game goes. Unless it's late game, I rarely see p go more than 4 gate on 2 base (and if it's late game and toss is 2 base still, gg), as they usually 3 gate robo for colossus or 4 gate with templars. Any more than 4 gates on 2 base and the p is playing too passively, letting me get my 3rd up.

I play z 1v1, so that's zvp.

Think you guys can help? I play zerg, and just got into plat. I'm having trouble with protoss lately. Every game I lose to toss involves dts usually. I'm unsure how to hold them off short of putting up spine crawlers and spore crawlers at each base, but often times I don't think of it until the dts are actually attacking. Should I just get them up as soon as possible vs protoss? Because it's pretty hard for me to scout toss sometimes.

And what do I get vs high templar? infestors? Since psi storms tear up my army.

To answer the DT question-

If you scout few sentries/stalkers with an expansion going up it's safe to assume either starport or DT play is coming out, at which point you should put 2 spores at each base if you're unsure of which. After I'm 3 base I usually put a spore and 2 spines at each base regardless of my scouting because DT harass becomes very hard to scout that late.

To answer the HT question-

There are many ways to deal with high templars which do include infestor play. If you're going to use infestors you need to either have more than he does templars, or have a vision advantage where you can chain fungal nearly all of them OR neural 1-2 of them and storm them with his own templar. Both are hard to pull off.

Roaches with burrow regenerate a lot of HP, so if you are getting stormed you can move your roaches back and burrow to regenerate HP, then continue. The problem is when they have insane amounts of storm. Basically if he can invest that much gas into templars then you should be investing as much into something like ultralisks, broodlords or infestors (as mentioned above).

Late game roaches SUCK. In mass they can't do anything against a well equipped blink-stalker army with a few HT's, or the standard 200/200 deathball. You need to have units like the infestor, ultralisk and/or broodlord.
