God this game is taking forever!!

i first dled at 6 parts but 1 of them was corrupted so im dling the full client and its like only 50% with a few hours to go... :banghead:

Took me 1 and a half day before with torrent. So consider yourself lucky ghost

. To those worrying about whether sgGE would go p2p or f2p, I'd say don't sweat it. It's good but not that good enough to join the big p2p leagues. Here's why:-
- Shitty char customizations. Hell even iSRO beats it to a pulp at this.

- Has ALL the 'necessary' item mall trappings (see above for starters). Earlier quests gives out EXP cards so that should indicate something *hint?*. Enchantments are easy but it looks like enchantment boosters could be yet another cash cow.

- Has probably 1 of the worse sub level 10 (yeah you read that right, 'sub' as in -> BELOW) botters' infestation I had ever seen in any beta.

- I'm not 'pro grouping' but I'm not an avid soloist either. The MCC system feature (3 toons control per family) works like a double edged sword to its detriment. Spawn hogging kids would yell to ya as if they can own errthing that pops out (which they can't 50% of the time).

- No subclasses.

- No jobs/ careers to speak of apart from building or crafting it seems.

- No RvR (none that I know of currently in beta) which is a shame really considering that MCC could be a lot of fun in BIG TIME, open GvGs.

- Maps/zones' (apart from subterranean = dungeons) scales are a joke for MCC.

- Even so..the toons' default movements' speed is annoyingly slow if you're used to grass walk.

- For a largely PvE fest, it doesn't seem to have per level challenges like 'uniques' or 'giants' like it is in iSRO. It seems to be reserved for the higher levels and that's just a backward thing to do really.

Now on to the good stuff:-
- Graphics are amazing even at the lowest settings. And it's hard to disagree with jiggly boobs.

- 'Auto everything' has a steep price. Spawn rates' difficulty and frequency are cycled in anything from below half to an hour periods. So basically you can die if you're AFK for too long or if you misjudged your training spot. It's good because at least well..The last thing you want is a legitimized botting environs (which it is to some degree..) that can bore your as.s up the wall soon enough. An almost even balance for the more casual players.

- Has immense potential to grow but if updates/features' additions comes at iSRO-ish pace well lol then bye bye long term p2p.

- If they can come up with solutions to the final 5 points listed above (NOT FORGETTING that they GOTTA do something about those lowbie botters), it can pose a serious challenge to titles of the same ilk today...Even iSRO if I may add.

For the botters' part alone, I won't fork out my $15. It beats (unfortunately) iSRO from the front to back in that sense and it's just a poor reflection of GMs' presence for something that's planned to be p2p. And p2p titles shouldn't have any item mall elements at all, no arguments no 'but's no 'if's.

That being said, 'patrol mode' (=auto atk) doesn't seem to improve on the fact that it's still is a heck of a grind. Which is made worse by the fact that players don't have much of a choice since there's no jobs to do or as an excuse for fights, possibly the best diversion than 'f9 + f1 + R + f2 + space bar' + REPEAT.

Unlike the more harsher critics out there who would put GE in comparison with WoW, I'll only take GE's 'native cousin' which is Lineage II, as the fairer title for contents' scrutiny. It's only parallel at graphics and fails miserably at classes' and contents depth to be a real p2p contender, let alone for a blow to blow comparisons even at the basics. Google up (for those unfamiliar with L2) the features and play those private ones to see what I mean.

It's not bad like I said before. It's just not good enough to be a p2p title when even a f2p+item mall fare such as iSRO can top it up on some of the more critical base features. By that statement, it warrants for a hefty internal review.

Hold out for just a bit, the items mobs start to drop get exponentially better very quickly. You can just loot around some AFKers and end up with a few hundred thousand in a very short timespan before long.

For some good financial help though, use less orbs and maybe use a formation like fighter/ele/scout to get you some ground cash, then you can make your musks and go orb-happy with the money you saved by not buying bullets/being wasteful.

becuase im lvl 16 and all they drop is like some mango thing and metals or whatever...

No, mobs don't drop actual Viz. I meant the metal drops and such that they are dropping, just collecting those and selling them to NPCs will keep you on your feet easy in no time. Then, just hope for a bit of luck and good timing, if you get a rare ring (photon splash, intensify, ect) or some good luck from Bellum Boxes (an item that, when dropped, becomes another item) you can be swimming in cash pretty quick.

Meh, Its good, good graphics and all that but just too much dungeons not sort of like the WoW or Silkroad MMROPG type. Have a family with 3 lv 17 characters.

ok well apperaly there are differnt versons of GE..so im downloading the new verson(sword of the new world) from mmosite but i guess its corrupted..can anyone help me find a full client that isnt messed up?

Sword of the New World is the USA version of the game, I think a lot of people here are on the SG version actually, including Blackhand and TheEMPIRE factions.

BlackHand GE is open for recruitment!

The Blackhand guild in SRO was allways a friendly force in Xian, and was allways 100% completly legit. We will keep that tradition in GE.

Blackhand is on the Cervantes server.

If you:

Can speak english fluently.
Are mature and active
Never will use or have used 3rd paty programs (other then TS or vent), exploited cheats, etc.

You might be perfect in Blackhand GE!

I hate to double post but I dont think you played long. It takes 1 or 2 days to get passed level 10, even if you are slow as hell.

Of course its going to have an item mall. If the per month charge is going to be what they suggest, 13 won, its dam cheap and item mall will offset that.

You get EXP cards all through the game, I still get them as rewards for level 7X quests. They did that because there are so many chars to level.

The default movement in SRO is slow also, TILL YOU GET GRASSWALK. There are lots of ways to improve movement speed in GE. Gear is an easy one. Its not hard at my level to get movement speed increases on all my gears.

Per level challenges? DId you stop at like level 10? Dilos Latem is the dungeon boss for 2X, the Treasure Golem for 4X and Chimera for 5X with a host of lesser bosses at every turn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoWxvTayYow Then on top of that you get mission interchange, spotlight, trinity and highway for group fighting, all level based.

And finally the lack of char customization. So how many char types does SRO have? 13. GE has about 50. Not when you start out of course, but as you play you gather rNPCs and each one is different. You can build your family combination using whatever ones you want.

subclasses? iSRO has them? lol Where? GE has the standard classes you get when you start, ele, wiz, fighter and scout. But again, as you play you can use the rNPCs which have unique characteristics you cant get with a regular char.

If you are going to make an argument, make one after you play a little.
