No point even arguing with Silo anymore. He thinks Sniper is a good hero, thinks Riki is an overpowered hero, and refuses to acknowledge any points you make. Not to mention that he's completely pulling bullshit out of his ass.

NuclearSilo wrote:In a general long game, my items at least provide me +125 agility. With the base agility, that's +200 extra dmg from backstab and that hurt a lot.

Really? Tell me, NS -- what items exactly do you end up with in your inventory by the end of the game? 4 Butterflies? 2 Butterflies, Manta, Skadi, Diffusal, SnY, and Treads? I mean, come on, its not even funny arguing with you anymore. You even think Sniper's ulti is somehow improved by an Aghis and that an "ultistick" makes him an even better KSer? How? An Aghis doesn't improve his ult, lol.

Here's a tip: stop playing bnet "-apem PROZ ONLY" pubs, stop stacking teams in your favor, and play someone on a higher skill level. Then come back and tell me that Rikimaru is a good hero, lol.

NuclearSilo wrote:As far as I see, you didn't acknowledge all the good points/bad points of every hero, you only look at the bad side and judge.
Sniper, far range, little stun, very good to harass at earlier game, anti-channeling, a great kser when he got ulti staff.
Clinkz, almost max mov speed with power thread when invi, 70% of the time he will be missed on the map and wait the chance to kill.

If you still think any heroes with invi are useless because you can easily counter with a dust and ward (oh wait, is there any hero that can't be countered?), then my honest advice is that you email IceFrog right away to tell him delete these heroes. Make sure you also post in dota forum to see how much flames you'd get.

These agility are mostly solo heroes, dmg dealer heroes rather than a team play, support heroes.

.........................-_-

This thread needs to be remade so people don't get the wrong idea about certain heroes from NS.

I never said Riki is overpowered, I only said he is a good hero, don't exaggerate -.-
Any hero is a good hero as long as you know how to play. Each one has his own ability and advantage -.-
And no, riki is not useless. Any hero could be countered, but it's not because you can counter a hero that he must be necessary dead, unless he has no leg lol

well, dota games must end like in ~30 min...at that time most heroes don't have so many good items(Non-EM)and riki needs good items...+ in good games people are ganging...try to resist with riki at a gang of 3-4 heroes with disables/nukes dust/gem

A year since i started and im sitll playing ^^.
IMO Riki is a good hero. A well place and timed smokescreen can prevent some IMBA CHAIN COMBOS like tiny's avalanchetoss, and that few seconds they're running away can give u the time to **** them up. Being invisible helps majorly in placing SS, because carrying a gem is a "KILL ME FIRST" invitation, and people generally dont use dust / wards randomly just to check if riki is there.
Also i noticed that riki doesn't need 4x butterfly to do batshit insane damage, a few wraiths and treads is surprisingly sufficent.

Riki is - item dependant, low hp, easy to pick off -> the team isnt going to die from one smoke, and smoke doesnt get everyone. What will u do after smoke? Stay and die with 900hp? Run and be useless to the team?

Sniper - Item dependant, low hp, easy to pick off, ult only helps himself, also no one gets exp/assist gold unless beside unit. Often used to KS.

clinkz - Not as item dependant, low hp, easy to pick off, better choice than the above two because of his roaming capabilities. Still pretty bad.

Farming them against a bad team and owning everyone doesn't make them good. I just lost to a riki in a league game because my ES and Lich fed..doesn't make him good.

in the lanes, if the enemies don't expect a teamfight (that little period before the wave hits the tower), they tend to be sticking together. Cloud's aoe is big enough to hit them, and a competent team would take advantage of the smokescreens' silence to screw the enemies over while they're trying to get out of it. Dead/silenced enemies can't do jack to riki's low hp without being able to nuke. That way he wont have to "stay and die with 900hp", or "run and be useless".

That is entirely situational. That is Riki's problem. Unless the situation is riki's team killing the **** out of the other team, he's useless. Then logic comes into play saying anything can happen during the game. While anything can happen, riki's chance of being useful compared to another hero is significantly lower than any other..hero.

Back at Malaysia at the moment, was playing LAN with some friends the other day, won with a comeback win, was down in kills and items. We had our middle lane raxes gone and then gathered in the middle lane and killed off 1-2 opponents with great timing , then proceed to take down their raxes then camped the last 2 towers and finished the throne. it was a refreshing match that doesn't come along often and I doubt we could have pull it off with randoms.

Rikimaru, Sniper and Bone Clinkz are great heroes if the player is great at hiding in the back of his teammates or his teammates are good at supporting. Just saying.

Still, we need weekly DotA nights! Getting addicted all over again.
