lessen load times huh...so in order to make it load faster than the 360 version they had to have you install it on the system....but yeah PS3 is soooo superior....

It's to lessen the load times you dumb ****.
lol...sorry to say but WRONG, because when comparing the game on the PS3 and on the 360, it loads about 1-3 seconds faster on the PS3...so 20 minuet installation for 1-3 seconds of faster loading? lol YEA, that MUST be it

So it was the developers choice to do it or to just make it Cd only. So I guess they added the HDD saving. Don't blame it on sony or the PS3, it's still the better game on PS3.
how is it a better game? its the exact same game...and looks just slightly better on the 360.
And yes you can blame it on Sony, its their dev kit that they give out to the develolopers and their softwear they have to take into account...would of just of made more sense to release a general update for the PS3 that inculded the 20 minuet installation for everyone so that way they have it covered. Like what Nintendo did with Mario Galaxy, they gave out a softwear update to ever Wii console.
The load times after installation are alot better than what would've happened without but the 360 version loads just fine as is without the need to install. Im not sure about the graphic situation but most reviews have pointed out consistently that with multiplatform games released for the PS3 and 360 the 360 version runs better in most areas and has overall better graphics.
I know DMC4's PS3 version already has reports of slowdown in certain areas that being said since most people paid 200$+ dollars for their PS3 system than others did for their 360 you should be expecting better quality at the very least. Its just gone to show that even with all that impressive hardware games and developers just aren't up that level yet and while that part is not sonys fault they should have realized that and designed their system accordingly....Perhaps a major PS3 exclusive will take full advantage of the system someday but since most big games are more profitable when released multiplatform don't expect the PS3 to outshine the competition any time soon.
TBH while MGS looks really good i could see the 360 pulling off the same graphics and so far im very disappointed with the videos i've seen of FFXIII graphic wise when they showed there realtime engine running....

According to BioWare's owner, Electronic Arts, Mass Effect will arrive on the PC this May. Following in the footsteps of Jade Empire and the two Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic titles in making the leap from console to PC ever since 2003. The Canadian studio BioWare has released award-winning role-playing games "exclusively" on Xbox consoles, only to have them arrive on the PC a few months later.
Set in the 22nd century, Mass Effect has players assume the role of Commander Shepard, a human tasked by the multispecies governing body known as the Citadel Council to track down a rogue agent named Saren. While in pursuit of his quarry, Shepard encounters various races, conspiracies, alien monsters, and interstellar mercenaries before uncovering a conspiracy that could doom all life in the Milky Way galaxy.
Super glad they're getting it out this early. Even though there's not much story incentive to replay I still want to beat it a couple more times to try out the different classes. I was a badass soldier that died under 10x, excluding the buggy of course.
The US gaming industry ended 2007 with record retail sales of nearly $18 billion. This week, though, the NPD Group provided a sobering reminder that market growth is not guaranteed.
Today, the industry-research firm released its US retail sales data for its January 2008 reporting period. While software sales for the month were up 11 percent to nearly $611 million for the month, hardware sales fell by a quarter to about $378 million. Combined with modestly declining accessory sales, the overall industry was down 6 percent for the month, posting $1.18 billion compared to January 2007's $1.25 billion take.
Despite that, the month contained indications that the industry actually grew. That's because NPD's January 2007 reporting period was actually five weeks long as opposed to this January's four-week span. NPD analyst Anita Frazier noted that the numbers are much rosier when that adjustment is taken into account.
"At the top-line, on an average sales per week basis, January 2007 was actually up nearly 18 percent as compared to last year," Frazier said. "And the big winner was console software which was up nearly 50 percent when compared on a level playing field to last year."
However, even on a week-by-week basis, hardware sales were still down 6 percent from last year. Frazier blamed that slide on price cuts made to the consoles, and speculated that hardware shortages in the wake of stellar December sales contributed to January's slide. That assertion was backed up a statement from Microsoft saying the Xbox 360 was suffering from temporary shortages.
Hardware sales weren't the only thing shrinking last month, and Nintendo's longtime lead on its competitors was similarly slimmed. The Wii once again took the system sales crown, but by a much narrower margin than in previous months--and with a new challenger nipping at its heels. In a month that saw significant advances for the PlayStation 3's chosen Blu-ray disc format, Sony's system ran nearly neck-and-neck with the Wii, selling 269,000 systems compared to the Nintendo console's 275,000. The third-place Nintendo DS racked up 251,000 system sales, while the PlayStation Portable and Xbox 360 brought up the rear, selling 230,000 units each.
As is customary after the holiday rush, January was a light month for game releases. Only two new titles cracked the top 10 software sales, with the Xbox 360 version of Burnout Paradise coming in seventh place with more than 144,000 sold, while the DS debut of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games rounded out the 10 spot with 133,000 copies sold.
More familiar faces dominated the software list, with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for the Xbox 360 once again besting all challengers, notching up another 331,000 in sales. The PS3 edition also did well, taking eighth place overall. Nintendo's Wii Play completed a full lap of the calendar, as the February 2007 release was second with just over 298,000 in sales. Guitar Hero on the Wii and Xbox 360 took third and fifth respectively, sandwiching the Xbox 360 version of competitor Rock Band at number four. The remaining spots were claimed by Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii at six and the DS edition of Mario Party in ninth.

Yesterday, Electronic Arts revealed it was bringing BioWare's wildly popular role-playing game Mass Effect to PCs in April. Today, the massive publisher lifted PC gamers' spirits even further, revealing--via the April cover of PC Gamer magazine--that its Los Angeles studio is developing Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3.
Red Alert 3 will be the first installment in the C&C spin-off series since the 2001 expansion pack Command & Conquer Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge for the PC. Both that game and the critically lauded original Red Alert took place in an alternate history where, following the assassination of Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin invades Western Europe. Massive, brutal warfare ensues, allowing players to fight as either the European resistance or as a Soviet general taking orders from "Uncle Joe" himself.
The past 24 hours have also been dominated by announcements from EA about its preparations to release Mass Effect on the PC, Spore on September 7, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, and a Burnout sequel. The aforementioned presentation by EA's CEO also revealed that one of the mystery projects of recently acquired Pandemic Studios is a new game based on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films.
Riccitiello's presentation also appeared to reveal a new game from Pandemic's former corporate twin, BioWare Inc. The same slide as the LOTR revelation had the Canadian studio's development lineup listed as "Mass Effect, Dragon Age, KOTOR, [and a] New MMO."
Many took the mention of "KOTOR" to mean that the studio's recently revealed collaboration with LucasArts is indeed a third installment in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series. And since BioWare is now strictly a developer, the listing also implies that the studio has retaken the series' reins after outsourcing 2005's KOTOR II to indie shop Obsidian Entertainment, currently at work on Sega's Aliens role-playing game.
Furthermore, the listing of Bioware's "new MMO" as a separate project from KOTOR gives the impression that the two are different games, and that Bioware Austin's massively multiplayer project might not be a KOTOR MMOG after all.
MrJoey wrote:**** Red Alert, I want kotor 3. If they make it as good as kotor 2 could have been, minus the bugs and glitches, it'll be top game.
i hate how they rushed KOTOR2 for x-mas 2005 and so its half the game it should of been. I just hope this time that Bioware get the time they need to make a game as good as KOTOR1 again.
if you read the article doesn't Un-confirm KOTOR3....maybe i read it wrong i was in a rush but it sounded like what they showed was just pics in general and they didn't really mean for it to imply KOTOR 3...can someone clear this up cause i was almost excited...

Well...Lucasart and Bioware announced a new starwars MMO...and everyone belived it was a KOTOR MMO as thats the game they both worked on before, but this week (or last week now) have stated that the MMO that Lucasart and Bioware has nothing to do with KOTOR...which has lead to rummors of a KOTOR3 as the word KOTOR has popped up several times when lucasart or Bioware talk about future projects...no nothing is official as of yet.
But to sum it up theres going to be a new MMO thats probely based on starwars and a new KOTOR game.

LucasArts recently said that the BioWare joint project was not KOTOR. We'll be getting a new Star Wars game, most likely, and w/e MMO they're working on.

Hmm...I doubt the MMO will be an original IP. I can't think of any of their old adventure games that would translate to an MMO. Maybe another cashcow SW?
OFT: For some reason I had to put in a location b4 I could post. ?

They're gonna remake SWG and do it right this time.
