Hey

Anyone got the new DLC? if so what did you think about it?

I was amazed by it, such depth and closer with the Liara/shadow broker story
that so far to date its the best DLC ever from bioware.

Love the speeder car parts and on the outer hull of the massive cloud ship :yay: :dope:

guys I'm wondering... is it worth it to do mass effect one before starting two? because I've been playing the first one but it kinda bothers me that there's a similar game with better gameplay and graphics :p

play through mass effect 1 and then import that save into mass effect 2.
It will greatly effect the way your mass effect 2 game plays out and its
story :sohappy:

yeah, definitely play 1 first. the games are more about the roleplay/story than the graphics/gameplay anyway imo.

Loved the DLC, Kasumi is a great crew member, Shadow Broker is indeed an awesome story with great action and locations (and it's about liara  ) and I dled project overlord yesterday, that was pretty freaky but awesome nevertheless. I got all DLC so far (also the weapon/gear/suit packs), dunno if I'll get the 2nd gear pack though that you showed ^ 3 suits for 180 points is a bit of a waste.

Love this game, ME3 better have some awesome surprises.

I have ME1 on 360 and ME2 on PC. Because of that I was never able to import my save.

I'm thinking of getting it so I have both on one platform; i've been really wanting to play.

Don't know what to do :(

Buy it from ebay or some used game store near you. I got mine for 12 euro incl shipping and ME2 for just under 20 incl shipping. Been years since I spend so much time on a game/franchise. Both my games (4 saved files, 2 ME1/2 ME2) are a total over...110+ hours probably. Last time I had that much time in a game was with GTA:SA I think xD Best part is that it's for about half the price a new game costs lol

He already got ME2 for PC :P

Maybe you could search for a downloadable Savegame, if you are lucky you may find one that fits your choices from you ME1 playthrough.

Just curious : am i the only one who kinda dislikes the visiblity of the paragon-/renegademeter?

Sure it is the nice and easy way to let the player experience and impact from their own choices and know if they are good/bad, but in my opinion and invisible system would be far better for the series.
I started Mass effect without ever really taking notice of it before, i was bored and was doing a signature for a forum-contest with the Male-shep and thought "hum, i read that this game is supposed to be pretty darn good with your own decisions, aliens and stuff, why not give it a try?" and jumped right into it.
Before i started playing i ofcourse made my thoughts and wanted to stive for a good-galaxy-saver kind of character, but still i'd like to be who i am, and maybe don't help that guy who annoys me the whole time.

So the first 1~2 hours of gameplay i really dug the dialogues and sometimes sat there for about a minute , deciding how i would answer in such a situation. After that period i slowly understood the mechanics in the game and discovered that paragon always were the top dialogue options and renegade always the lower ones.
From that moment on the true complexity i had imagined before died for me. I knew i had to choose the upper options and then be good and never choose the lower options or i'll gain renegade points.
With a hidden system (no visible renegade/paragon and maybe randomized dialogue opions) i would have felt a greater conection with the character which would lead to far more fun for me.

Anyone feels the same ? Or am i the only weirdo who up to some point dislikes the current system?

Spoiler!

You're right, maybe it would be more fun but you can still see from the dialogue options which is which even if it is randomized.

I noticed it too at the start of ME1, just like the left side is often for more information (not always). Maybe you know what to choose, but it won't stop you from considering, or even choosing, the other one if you truly want to be who you are o.O

true, but this way you may end up in a conflict.
On the one side you want to choose the option you liked the most but on the other side you already know that it will likely have a bad impact on you afterwards.(atleast in my case , cause i wanted to try to be the hero guy)
So instead of reaching a point where i may realize "Damn, maybe i made a mistake back on Planet-123 by helping guy 2 instead of guy 1" ,i only end up thinking "Yeah something had to happen when i choose renegade..."

I just bought Mass Effect 2 because I finished the first. Got to say the story line kinda confused me in the beginning. Did you know about cyberis (how ever you spell it) before the second game?

Idk I hate the ammo system D: I loved being OP with my sniper of doom.

Yeah Cerberus was a small part of Mass Effect 1, it involved a series of side missions that started off by talking to Admiral Kahoku at the top of the citadel tower. They were also a very large part of the 2nd novel, which bridged the gap between ME1 and ME2.
I agree about the ammo system, I preferred the infinite ammo of the 1st game, especially with the higher level assault rifles basically just shooting forever with mods. Sometimes in the 2nd game its a pain to be looking for ammo once you run out.

Didn't do many side quests in ME1 and didn't read anything so yea probably why I was left out of the loop.

If ME2 had the same wep system as ME1 It would be perfect lol.

I think I prefer the ME2 system, because of that you run out you will use your other weapons more often. In ME1 during my first playthrough I used my pistol/shotgun and sniper maybe once and just blasted everything down with my AR. But in ME2 I had to mix it up because of the ammo ;] Although at important missions you hardly ever run out of ammo. I wish I had a cain with infinite ammo

Well it depends on the class you can play ofcourse, I was a soldier so I could use as good as every gun, plus that I had those DLC guns so they were already stronger than the rest (heavy pistol mostly). Infinite ammo is nice but I like that it brought more variety, to me atleast.

first run on ME2 and likewise i was running out of
ammo alot (i guess because i had no idea what to expect).

Second run i got used to using my ammo (inferno *BURN MUTHER BURN*
) with my teams powers and only run out if it was a long ass
missions, i.e. getting grunt or shadow broker.

What I like about ME and ME2, is directly after playing ME and popping in ME2 you see a HUGE difference in the games graphics, I was very impressed when I first played it.

I still think Wrex should be a part of your team in ME3
