So, guys, first impressions of the game? I still have not bought it yet, I can barely get to play lately, but I'll get there, I think

I've been reading the bdo forum and the complaints are usually about the high prices of the cash shop, but the only thing they mention are the dresses, that are around 30 bucks (so yea, considering the game itself costs 30 bucks... ) but nothing else besides that. I guess it's not p2w afterall, which is good.

I'm also getting confused easy lol. but it is fun. i'm not sure if i can get into this game as much as i did silkroad back in the day but it's fun for an hour or 2 at a time.

Halp! My beloved gaming laptop shuts down after 2-3hrs of play... I think it's overheating...I have it sitting on a cooling pad with twin fans and the problem still occur... I've also turned down the graphic settings in game to low and still having this issue.... Didn't realize Black Desert was so resource intensive... I guess I am being punished for disliking desktops with their refrigerator size and the jungle vines cable mess behind them ...Any ideas?...

Well, first thing I'd do is cleaning the laptop. Dust and dirt gather up quickly inside, especially if you are using a cooling pad. Maybe you should replace the thermal paste (is that how it is called?) aswell, if it is more than 2 years old.

Also, there are programs that let you control your fans, that may help aswell, but I don't know a lot about them (how effective they are), since I've never used any.

fan controls should be in the bios

also download gpu-z and core temp to see what ur temps are getting to, it may help pinpoint the problem

but i would definitely do like phaedra said and pull it apart and do some cleaning. and make sure all the fans are turning on, could be a dead fan, happened in my gf's laptop

Decided against buying the game as I really don't have the time to play this as I would want to. Also the cash shop took a lot of points off for me. To play with all the trinkets I would need to pay 150 bucks + and I feel that's pushing it in terms of purchases for week 1.

That being said I get it, keep having fun folks.

And fun is the keyword here...especially since they've now released the class I was dying to play...It did not disappoint... BDO is without a doubt the best MMORPG to date for me ...
