So I want to play a game without steam since I have it installed on my PC.
I installed it through my cousin's account, and I wanted to play the single player without steam because he obviously uses his account for his own business. Is there any way I can play a game that was installed through a different steam account, single player offline?
Kind of confusing but post if you have any idea to help or are confused.
tldr: I want to play a game, single player offline that was installed on my pc from a different steam account; is there a way to do this?
Game is COD:BO if your wondering.. just want to play zombies.

Re: Steam Offline Single Player
Find the exe in the common folder it SHOULD still run. Though sometimes steam configures it to need steam.
I had an idea though to get past that. I thought if the game files were the same that a NO-CD exe would work just the same. Haven't tried it though.
Another way around this is to just unplug the internet (or block steam with your firewall) so it goes into offline mode. Then you have free rain to whatever is on steam.

Re: Steam Offline Single Player
I dont want to unplug the internet because other people in the house use it.
I tried to block steam by using windows 7 firewall, creating an inbound and outbound rule to block the steam exe, but it always created a STEAMSTART file and startup steam when i tried to launch the game lol. So.. steam always worked.

Re: Steam Offline Single Player
what you need to do....is go into your steam
settings and make sure that steam is set to "offline" mode.
(search google on how to do this). What this means is steam
games can work without an internet connection (if you were to
suddenly not have one), and steam acts as if you do not have
an internet connection

this method doesnt work. If im logged onto the account on which the game is on, it works perfectly. When I want to play on my account, the game says this game is not yet ready to play in offline mode or something.

Because your account is not registered to have that game. I am sure they made sure people couldn't do that even in offline mode. You will just have to settle with switching accounts to play differant games.
And you can disable the internet on your computer alone by jsut disabling the NIC, unplugging it, or give it a random IP that is not a part of your network (123.123.123.123 for example).
