PSP2 is going to be "fawking powerful!"

Following rumors of the PSP2 appearing at E3, some further "details" have reportedly been uncovered regarding the long-rumored Sony handheld.

You'll notice that "details" are in quotes, but that's just because none of the following info have been verified by Sony yet. Nevertheless, here's what gaming blog VG247 dug up:

♦ MCV rumoured last week that Sony “could” announce PSP2 at E3.
♦ VG247 goes digging. According to a source familiar with the matter, it’s “99 percent” it isn’t an E3 reveal.
♦ Multiple British sources have confirmed that PSP2 NDAs have been in place at publishers and developers for many months.
♦ PSP2 has two cameras, one forward and one backward facing.
♦ It has a touch-screen, but apparently it has retained the trademark physical PlayStation buttons.
♦ UK sources were previously working towards a “2010″ release. This is now “2011″.
♦ One source would be “amazed” if there was any kind of physical media involved. We’ve been told it “could” be 3G-enabled, as opposed to the WiFi-only PSP go. This bit was sketchy.
♦ Multiple PSP2 games are being made in Britain right now. Some have even already been canned.
♦ There have been “finished units” in the UK, but we haven’t spoken to anyone that’s seen a final case.
♦ When asked directly about reveal timing, one source said, “If the games were aiming for end 2010, beginning 2011, and now it’s a 2011 release, I’d say a gamescom or TGS announce for launch early next year”.
♦ One source told us the machine is “f*cking powerful,” being based on a four-core Cell CPU. PS3 runs on an eight-core version.

Remember, this is a rumor. Rumor rumor rumor. Can't stress that enough.

Since PSPGO was such a big fail, now SONY probably will bring us a second version of the already best hand-held console ever: THE PSP2. (Tho, dunno why it says PS2P.)

2 cameras, wut? and Touch Screen? Hmmm.. sounds good, actually.
But well, i think they are going to release a new video-chat portable device more than a hand-held console. But at least im happy with the 4core CPU. It going to be a beast!
If PSP could do even emulate an OS, every console, browse through the internet... Imagine this.

If it can make phone calls and be cheaper than $300 it'll be sold out. That was the biggest downfall with the PSP Go! along with not being touchscreen and the price of $250.

I paid $250 for my PSP 1000 series, because it could play graphics up to par with PS2. Now it's just.. pathetic that they're trying to sell the same shit, but thin.

Still fail is fail, they resized the screen (to a lower measure) plus it's incredible uncomfortable to play also, they remove the disc tray.

I have myself 2 PSP 1000 as well (One black the other Champagne Gold )
The PSP 3000 if i recall correctly, it allows you to plug it to the tv. (Well, For fat-psp we got RemoteJoy etc)
Well that's the big great diff. i feel that PSP2 is going to be a big hit.

My, my.
Well, you got a point. DS release were rather good (Bigger screen, built in camera, etc) meanwhile PSP upgrades were.. uh..
My point is, if you ever bought the first version of PSP, you don't need to "discard" it when a new one was released. In fact, there was no need an upgrade since the first one was simply mind-blowing and pretty complete. (cause the upgrade are, as i mentioned post above, is a thinner version and able to connect it to the TV).

So Sony did well creating this awesome hand-held at first hand.

Second of all, it'd be impossible to play SRO on your psp unless you had the source code, and even then you'd need DirectX on your psp, which isnt going to happen. The processor is sure to weak to handle a game such as silkroad as trying to load to the WHOLE enviroment would give you 2fps? if it could be done even.

If you have a PSP, obviously would be stupid trying to install the whole game on it. There's other ways. Like homebrews.

I actually managed to put on the PSP screen the client of SRO and able to watch them moving at a decent fps (but bad quality due of the oversize) but it failed trying to manipulate it (since the game overrides the programs commands). I have proofs pics and videos.
The proyect is still going on.
I managed to play Runescape on it. ha! lol

Don't assume, I am sony fanboy actually, i have my psp-1000 and psp go right next to me, both running 5.50 CFW, I have had the psp since it came out, and I've loved sony since my first PS1, i could care less about nintendo and their underpowered hardware, but at the same time the PSP-GO disappointed me, I've waited well long enough for PSP2 to come out, 5 long years, and realizing todays tech makes no sense to these rumors

And if you really want to prove this PSPRoad works, i need to see some roughh evidence, cuz what I see in that pic is probaly a picture taken via widescreen, give me some proof, and I will believe, and if it is true, I will help you, since I've designed countless homebrew apps for the PSP and put them on QJ.

And also if anyone tries to ask how they've gotten other games to work, such as quake 3, its because it ran openGL and they released the source code to it

Ok here's the link i've uploaded but first of all, have you heard of the PSPDisp homebrew? Yeah, maybe i disappointed you by that but hey! At least we can maybe play SRO at the comfort of our couches. I succeed with Runescape.

The thumps up of this proyect (well, the homebrew) is:
-You can manipulate your PC trough your PSP either vis USB or LAN (wifi).
-You can also emulate the sounds, that your PC sends, trough your PSP.
-Customizable buttons (i was going to say weapons lul).
-And of course able to play every PC game.
-External LCD for your PC. (check your aim, msn etc while playing a full screen game, program)

and the cons are...
-AFAIK, you can't send files from your PC to your PSP.
-If you are playing a game trough the PSP, you can only watch videos for the one who want to use the PC. (Since most programs need to be "in front" able to control it.)
-The Quality of the screen on the PSP is not that bad when you do it at the same resolution it has your PC, but it really unreadable when its on Full Screen.
-Still working on, since sometimes you may notice low frame rates.

Uhm, well this proyect may suck lol it just came to my mind since "you can see your PC on your PSP and able to control it":(

But what about if we try to make the best homebrew ever created?
