Hey everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right section for this because its technical but.. I've been trying to play Counter-Strike Source more often and I'm experiencing very bad gameplay. I get about 10-30 FPS.
Here are my PC Specs.
Intel Pentium D 2.8 Ghz (2 CPU's) 3GB RAM Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT with Latest Drivers DirectX 9.0c
I'm also using this "Casey's Config" for counterstrike but it doesn't seem like its helping at all.
Its basically the source games. Day of Defeat Source lags like crazy aswell, but CS 1.6 and Day of Defeat are fine. Silkroad is laggy only in heavy populated areas though.
Your graphics card is fine. So I would assume that its a cpu issue.
I just upgraded to a new phenom II cpu and while my old dual core ran it fine, the new one just blows the old one it away (used to be an average of 220fps in the css stress test and now 450, with the same gfx card I had before).
Pentium D would be a very old cpu, so maybe you should try and look to upgrade it? Don't see anything else that could be the problem if you say older games run fine...
the issue was my CPU Heatsink wasn't doing the best it could. I bought a nice new Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2.. FPS is around 70-100 now.. Thanks for the help everyone.
