I am looking for a game, preferably a private server, where I can level up to cap, or a PvP level relatively quickly.
However, I want the PvP to be competitive and/or different and/or really fun.
I have tried cabal servers, the game is great, but I hate the rank up/skill up system UGH.
Anyone?

If you can stand the graphics, Ragnarok Online. The one I linked is a private server though, currently playing on it with IRL friends. Grind is not hard, you'll reach cap in 4-5 days shorter if you can have someone to boost you.; it's skill based(not sure what you mean by that), you'll have fun with Sieges, PVP, GVG, and Battlegrounds.

Most if not all Lineage 2 private servers are PvP AND I FUCKING HATE IT :D

Really, if you want competition and PvP, Lineage 2 is the game you're looking for. Some servers are PvP only and with 5k exp.

Don't go to Aion for "skilled" PVP, not unless you think ganking/zerging takes "skill". 99% of its PVP involves large groups wiping out smaller groups or individuals, higher levels griefing lower levels (and +/- 5 levels is enough difference to cause headaches), or being ambushed/ambushing an opponent that's fighting a mob.

There are many other problems - just ask a melee class, or anyone who has been on the receiving end of CC from 100% health to 0% with no chance to control your character at all. I was extremely excited about Aion, now I'm equally as disappointed in it.

Just find any fun game to play for now. Example I'm having fun in Killing Floor.

Wait a few months and either Torchlight Online or Guild Wars 2 will be available. I'm hoping both games will be a lot of fun. Only flaw to GW 2 is NCSoft who have an un-broken record of destroying every game they publish. Heh, GW2 could be the game to break that unbroken trend so far.
