Ps3 vs. Xbox 360

If all your friends have a 360 and you want to play with your friends..get a 360

Otherwise go with a ps3..with price no longer being a factor I cannot see why someone would pick the lesser console. I got a ps3 because I don't play with most of my friends (they sux) and because of the blu ray player..

Well, I personally don't know anyone who owns a ps3, all of my friends play xbox 360, old and young..I too have a 360, and I gotta say it is worth it, and I've had mine since '07 and it's never broke etc...

the list goes on but most people i know play 1 game 99% of the time and thats MW2 which is for both consoles. Neither console sucks, sony just made the mistake of pricing theirs incredibly high when xbox was already out with many exclusives. Biased opinions increased exponentially and the whole 'omg if u own ps3 ur fanboy' thing came along..

You can say the same with the 360. TBH None of the exclusive titles impresses me nowadays. I also don't see why $400 and $300 makes a huge difference. If you buy games that adds up many times over than the system itself. If you rent/steal/borrow games then good for you.

The online gaming is pretty much the same for both except that one is free and one is not...

PS3 uses a host/client whereas 360 has servers and that the 360. Big difference

No,the Wii would, Nintendo has a huge fanbase,because at the end,even XBox & Playstation fanboys have played Duck Hunt & Super Mario The real question is,if Sega was still making console,where whould they be hehe

Plus,even if the PS3 has more cores than the XBox360,there still hasn't been any game released that takes advantage of all of its cores.

BTW though, PS3 mistake wasn't about the pricing. It was the delays. XBOx360 simply was made on time and was shipped in time for Christmas. Then Microsoft was smart enough to have Halo 3 ready by Christmas again, before PS3 sales. Microsoft did everything right to give customers a reason to buy and Sony did everything to give customers a reason not to buy. With the delay, Microsoft had a year head start with exclusive games. Microsoft was also smart in ensuring they had a superior Online experience. Just look at the early reviews of Playstation Network, it was one dissapointment after another. Sony said they would do this and that and either simply did not do it or late. And when they did do it, they did it poorly. Sony only has themselves to blame. Overall I think they did it too late.

Why do I say too late. Well because potential buyers like myself now realize, we don't know anyone that has a PS3 and all our friends have an XBox. People like myself have an even greater and more important reason why not to buy a PS3 now. It doesn't matter how superior PS3 hardware is or the few exclusive titles to PS3.

The Playstation 3 missed big titles in the early stage after the release that made the PS1 and PS2 what they were. Combined with a higher price and being released way after the Xbox it was really tough to look appealing enough for gamers making a choice between consoles. The PS2 had Gran Turismo 3 and Final Fantasy X both a year after the launch, huge titles that drew gamers to the console. But for the PS3, years went by and the good games came out very sporadically and spread out, and GT5, FF, GoW and The Last Guardian have yet to be released.

Having both, I simply like the 360 more.

I like the PS3, but there are features on the 360 that I prefer over Sony's console.

Also, no one here owns a ps3. Or at least it virtually seems that way.

Why is it more for the hardcore gamer? Most games are on both platforms and those that aren't are well nice, but the xbox got those too O_o It's really a matter of taste, I prefer the xbox online service even though you have to pay for it. I also like the xbox exclusives more. Also the xbox doesn't have as much problems as it used to so that can't really be an argument either.

@Wu: There is no use in saying games that are also for the X360 lol ^^

theres the argument that the better graphics and higher price tag along with the features of a ps3 is more for the hardcore fans also more exclusives

And imo, the Ps3 is more for the casual gamer, with the free online network, any random can jump on and play online. Also, what 'hardcore gamer' uses a console browser and plays PS3 Home?

For those that are confusing PS3's "one console in 10 years" thing. What they meant was, while they will release another console, probably right around whenever Microsoft releases another one, they will keep support going for PS3 for 10 years. Unlike Microsoft who dropped all support for the original Xbox 2 days after Xbox360 came out.
Case in point: Games are still coming out for PS2, and that's been out a very long time now.

No, i am not kidding about the graphics. Whatever differences there are, imo it comes down to the quality of your television. Ive seen picture comparisons and theres no significant difference, only noticeable difference is that one is more brighter or darker. I dont see the point of arguing about graphics of the same game on different consoles.

GTA IV got released on xbox first too didn't it? O_o And the fact you don't like the DLC's doesn't mean it sucks at all, everywhere I look people are liking the 2 DLC's.
