metal gear solid 2 substance

anyone have the PC version of metal gear solid 2? Can you tell me what the controls are like? I'm thinking of getting it (yes I know its probably 5 years old by now) and I was just wondering how bad the controls are since it was originally meant to be a console game

I don't own it myself, however..

Most people say it sucks. You can buy an analogue controller, but it often doesn't work, even the official PS2 controllers don't work with it (via usb conversion)(afaik).

..and I, like most people, can't imagine playing MGS without an analogue controller.
