I'm primarily a 1.6/CZ player, and I started on Source while playing in a Japanese CS:S server. After, 20 minutes, I was banned for a "Detox Violation." I've been goggling around trying to find out what detox violation is. I'm pretty new on Source (just got it this past X-mas), and I dunno what the hell this is? From what I read, it's CVAR checker?? I don't know why I got banned. I just installed it, which means it's clean. I dunno wtf is going on? Thanks in advance.
Before playing, I did put in a FPS config. I don't know if that's the problem. Here's the link:

Thanks in advance.

Re: CS: S Detox Violation?
Probably has low rates or something.
Try upping these
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
rate 30000

Re: CS: S Detox Violation?
Detox is an anti-cheat mod for css. Just basically a script with commands+values which people can't violate. Or in other words, can't go over/under.
There should be a description in the console when you get banned from these servers, with a detailed description of what commands are violated.
Fresh css installs don't have the console enabled, so you have to do this yourself.
Options > keyboard > advanced > Enable Developer Console (~).
Typing this, the thought crossed my mind that you probably won't be able to come across another detox server to find out what was violated, as detox servers aren't common.
Actually, I think it will not be easy coming across another. You can delete the fps config and exec the standard css config ingame, and see how it runs.
If it runs crappy, I am willing to provide you with a list of fps-increasing commands.
On a sidenote however, I actually recommend you to just ignore it, as there aren't that many servers that run the detox script, you'll be fine on another one.
Just added fixing suggestions if you want to play on that server you got banned from.
If you post me the error I can fix it for ya.

Re: CS: S Detox Violation?
Sorry for the late reply. Well, I went ahead and played again with the same settings until I got banned again. Good thing is the banning is temporary. I wanted to get banned again to see that window with all the details. Well here is the information I got from that window:
Console variable "v" contains an illegal value: "enable"
> Must equal "1".
http://detox.steambans.com/
I'm still not certain of what this is. I'm looking around again. Thanks Twysta, and I will try and play default when I get unbanned again, which could take a few hours (temporary ban). Lol. Thanks again.

Re: CS: S Detox Violation?
Hey there
Looking at your error message I know that it's a really simple thing.
Except... where it says "v" , there should be a proper command (eg m_pitch or con_enable etc.), just like the other error messages coming from Detox.
Did some googling and stuff, and after leaving "v" out for any other command to show up on google, it seems that detox uses these weird things like "~" and "&4" as recognition for their commands. There are several others. I'm not sure what "v" is, and it seems nowhere to be found on the net. I suggest you make a topic at the detox forums and wait for a reply..
Little thing you can try, type in console "bind v" without the "'s and tell me what it gives you

Re: CS: S Detox Violation?
Well upon research, and after watching some youtube videos I found out that a lot of detox server or similar servers will kick and ban you for having such an fps config. So as you stated, Twysta, there's not a lot of servers with this Detox system, and so it's just fine. I also found this information true as I went around researching. I'm just going to shutdown/disable that fps config when I play on those servers since I only play for fun anyways (it's a Deathmatch server). So far, it's doing great and been playing for a couple hours without a kick or ban. Thanks for the responses.
Peace,

Re: CS: S Detox Violation?
Np
Also, not sure if I explained it already.
But if you're deleting the FPS config and it's called autoexec then you're going to have to exec the standard css config which is not really hard. Otherwise if it's called autoexec then it set the commands in the config to standard.
The command you're violating is probably a really silly one. Like cl_allmodels 1 or something. Makes all skins look the same to you. You could delete the commands one by one , go on to the Detox server, and test it
