Sro games?

Post by Tasdik »

Are there any games out there that are somewhat like Silkroad?
I'm mean it's gotta be...
1. F2P *idc if theres an item mall or not as long as you won't be totally owned cause you didn't buy anything from the item mall"
2. Have a download that's under 1G *my internet will prollly blow up but meh*
3. Pretty nice graphics
4. nice skills and what not

Things I don't want it to have.

1. Taking forever to lvl...I understand the best things in life are worth waiting for but come on really silkroad takes waaayyy to long :banghead:
2. A ton of bots *a few won't bother me much*

and so yeah...what games can ya'll recomend?

The only other f2p MMO I've played is Perfect World, and as I understand it, at the higher levels, you're almost required to buy item mall things like hieros (quick recovery pots, the regular hp/mp pots restore over time, not instantly).

I really enjoy playing it though. The quests are the grind in that game, and if you have time you can hit level 30 in a day. There are very few bots - although I've seen jumphacks (makes you jump constantly so it's like flying) - but you can report a bot just by right-clicking on their picture :) I've also seen GM's in-game, which is something I have never seen in SRO.

I think the graphics are slightly better than SRO's. The client doesn't crash nearly as much, either. The one problem is the download is like 2.5 gigs.

It'll run on my laptop with an Intel chipset, and like SRO, multiple PC's are allowed, but not multi-clienting on the same PC. People tend to be nicer so far; it's common to be out grinding/questing and somebody comes over and buffs you.
If faith is a crutch, I'm not limping anymore.

You dont have to use real money

1. You can buy them with ingame gold
2. You can make your pharmacist pots
3. You could play a WF that doesn't really need hiero

Its a big download, the gfx are great but they could be lowered so you can play on any kind of comp.

And yeah there's no bots and lving is not that hard, still you will need to grind 40+,but there's always daily quests.

I wouldn't really say that PW has great graphics... Though it was cool that you could thoroughly customize your character. I remember playing PW and monsters from far doesn't have much movement, making it look like as if it was lagging... The game reminds of Ran Online, though I didn't play both for anymore than a day...

Requiem was the only other MMORPG that I actually liked after quitting SRO. It has superb graphics and gameplay. F2P of course, there wasn't really a must to get their Premium for better XP(No server traffic). It sure as hell doesn't take much grind to get to higher level, and there are a lot of quests to keep you busy, so the grind was actually at a minimum level. I remember playing for like 2 weeks, and got myself to lv61 or lv62, and the cap was believed to be lv70. The best part is that there's a lot of blood effects and monster designs are cool, and somewhat scary, that's why it's rated Horror. I also heard that they released a new class recently, and also a new trailer, hmm. And oh yea, their installer is 2.4GB in size, torrent is available, and the game takes less than 3GB.

Requiem just has way to much blood and real head chopping.
But the chars with the giant swords did look really nice.

PW for a 2004 game has amazing gfx and they are still really nice.
The important thing is that its fun.

Yeah, but you still have to make lots of ingame gold to do it. 90-110k in-game gold for one "item mall" gold? Dunno how much hiero's are but I thought they were $1.25 or so equivalent.

Yep, already making life powders, and I'm seeing that you kind of need to devote some time to collecting herbs. But yes, it's still a lot of fun, I agree.

1.You spend time on your job to earn money to buy item mall hiero
2.You spend time doing HH/Fb/Grind to get money to buy hiero
3.You spend time picking up herbs to make pots.

Yeah, for 2004. I don't know, couldn't really get myself into PW when I was playing it.

As for Requiem, even monsters have more than 1 way of dying. Well, at least you have something to look forward to while you're grinding I guess.
