How do i chat?!(halo)

seriously i've been pressing all buttons to make this work.

My friend gave me this game he wanted me to play with him: Halo.

And i was like ok cool let's play some. So we got in the game and we started shooting each other but i couldnt even find the way to send messages in game.



i pressed T, Y, and many others....

any1 knows what shud i press?

Did you hit T and then tryed to type...It's been a long time since I played Halo on the pc so I'm not sure, but it could be that you don't get a chatbox.
