Why does everybody think all screenshots are photoshopped?

Why does everybody think all screenshots are photoshopped?
I could send a message to random person saying I bot, and when he posts it, I can say it's a fake, and walk away, without problems.
And photoshopping messages in SRO take alot more time.
Most of the time when you bust somebody botting, you don't always have the time recording it, or there are other complications, so you take a screenshot, and that only takes a few milliseconds, than upload it, which should take at max. like 2 minutes, and post it, way easier than recording it, editting it, than uploading to youtube, which takes more time, and than they will even complain about the quality of the video, becuase youtube is crap.

It's not that all of them are photoshopped. It's the fact that it can be photoshopped. When giving justice, you need to question such creditability.

words can be twisted, screenshots can be eidted, video's can be scrambled with, forums can be false, accounts can be hacked.

We can stop the war on bots, since every bit off evidence, regardless of the kind, dan be tempered with.

Everything and anything may or may not be solid proof. Which is why I said about questioning the creditability. When your primary evidence does not give enough, support evidence comes into hand.

Learn a bit about our own (reality) justice system.

Anything HTML related can be fixed. This is why they want in game ss and video. Here is how:

1) Get Source Code
2) Save and Open Source Code in Notepad
3) Edit Source
4) Save and View
5) Take Edited ScreenShot

Doesn't work. The address bar URL will link to your PC, and if you go ahead and photoshop that it would be much quicker to just have taken a screenshot and photoshoped the text.

And, if someone is really into getting someone banned, in game screenshots and even videos are easily edited.

I'm not sure how that would help. The MD5 just says that the screenshot wasn't altered, but what would you compare it to? If you and I take a screenshot of the exact same thread, our MD5s might not be the same for a number of reasons. Our screen resolutions are likely different, causing the thread to look different. You might have scrolled down a line or two whereas I didn't. My web browser might not be maximized, whereas yours is.

Our screenshots would have to be identical for the MD5 to be the same.

No, but if the md5 is printed on it at the time of it being taken, then WE can check the md5 to see what it is legit. Then again, is that even possible? (The placing the md5 at the time of taking, as wouldn't that alter the md5 itself?)

You are right. If you generate an MD5 of an image, and then print the MD5 onto the image, then the image would be altered. Hence, it would have a different MD5. The MD5 printed on the image would be garbage.

No the md5 is generated, and is unique for ever unique file. So an image that is 100x100 all black, would have one md5, while another that has 1 white pixel it would be completely different.

Printing a md5 that match with the file md5 in a pic is impossible:

1. Silkroad copy the screen then generate an image file.
2. If the program use a certain function to calculate the md5 of that file, it will only give the md5 of the clean file.
3. After that, if u print the md5 in the image, image change, therefore the new md5.
4. Finally the old md5 and the md5 of the current file wont match.

That's what I was trying to say. You can't put a correct MD5 onto an image like you can put a date label on a picture you get developed. It won't work.

Theoretically, Joymax could use stegonography to put a hidden (to the naked eye) "signature" on any screenshot that is generated from the game. Then if you run the screenshot through some verification process, it will verify if it is authentic.

You wouldn't be able to tell at all by looking at the picture.

Then if someone alters the picture in any way, the stegonography message would be altered. Not that Joymax has any reason to do that...

Wait, you just had no clue what an MD5 was, but now you're lecturing us on it?
Am I the only one here who is lost?
