What is that supposed to mean? "No one really cares". Cares about what exactly? I think the issue is a very valid one.
First of all I DONT BOT anymore, I have dicarded my old botting chars aswell.
Secondly I AM NOT PRO BOTTERS, but i am not against all of them either.
If you guys bothered to read what IC3 was saying, you would have realised that he is not pro-botters. I agree with everything IC3 has said. He wanted the convey the point that not all Botters are scum. They bot because unlike some of you people, they dont have the time to put into the game. Therefore botting gives them an easy way to still enjoy the game. Alot of botters are babysitters, whats the problem with that? I'm not saying that i am pro botting, because obviously the game would be a much better community if it was 100% legit. This war against bots will never end, there will always be Bots on Silkroad unless the game gets bought out by another Company. Therefore why not learn to live with them? I am in a botting guild.. And up until recently was master of it. Its extremely active, extremely strong and moreover extremely fun. Your drawing the line between Botters | Legit. This shouldn't be how it is. Botters and Legitimate players should be able to play together, and they should both accept the way that each other choose to play the game. The line should be drawn between Idiots (24/7 AFKers / Goldbotters / KSers) | Everyone else. If i didn't start off this game botting, i would never have met half the people i did. Thanks to botting i've met some of the nicest and most generous people I have ever come across online. It is also thanks to them that our guild and community is still going. I am quitting silkroad now anyway, that doesn't mean that i will lose connections with these people though. I still play with them, and would at some point like to meet some of them IRL. So what if they bot? It doesn't change them as people. Botting guilds can be just as fun as Legit guilds, if not more.
In all honesty i am sick of hearing how great Venus is. So dont turn this into a Venus related discussion.

sorry to quote something old (yes i read the entire thread) but i just wanted to say something about this.
when i started olympus in august 06 there was hardly anyone past 60. i dont think i ever seen a firebull untill i was 35 on my first character. i had my own guild and we used to do trade runs every night. my highest lvl member was lvl 45, Xmas, me and xmas would hunt and then there would be 3 or 4 lvl 20-30 traders. it was quite fun. i dont think i ever ran into a thief higher then lvl 45. back then i used to think Xmas was leet as hell because he was pure int spear and could uaually 1shot any thief . that is what olympus was like before bots. the most jobbing was 40-50. one of the best thief guilds was Royals and my friend Dante_ was in it. and he was lvl 42. but i remember they used to thief dnw all the time. this may all seem pointless but its leading to something. so you can say ya i would be mad when bots started to flood the server and we couldnt pvp or go on trade runs anymore. the ppl who where 40-50 shot all got to 80 in a hurry and i was still 40 like wth?
im trying to paint a picture here. at first yes i was mad as hell and jelous too at botters. then oneday i logged on to find half my union gone. i talked to some of the ppl that where still left and they told me that PowerNuker had been found botting in the caves. i was like wtf? pn? botting? everone was upset that ChrisDoll44 the leader of the union, had allowed a botter into his guild. the union fell apart. half of his guild left. i talked to him i said chris, why dont you just kick pn and things will go back to normal? and he wouldnt do it because PowerNuker was a good friend of his. so i stayed by chris. and mabey a month later, he pms me. i had been trying to talk to him, i mean he was online but wouldnt answer me. then he came back and said bb, i was afk. so i said stalling? he goes no, i was botting. i mean after the union feel apart and half his guild left... he just starts to bot? i had known chris for about a year at that point and he was my good friend. so i was mad at him for like a week and couldnt take it anymore. i said chris, i dont care that you bot. yes i was mad at him but lose a friend because he choses to bot? he had helped me thru being hacked, thru losing my guild (eventually i joined his). he had done alot for me and i just dont think it would have been worth it to lose a friend because he decides to bot.
No i have never in my life botted, and i never will. but i just wanted to say this because i know it feels to have a friend who bots. you just have to accept it. i mean alot of my good friends are bots. and sence this is not connected to joymax im not afriad to say their names. on olympus id say 50% of my friends botted (i latter found out Xmas was a botter xD, oh well) and on posiden 100% of my friends bot, why? because when DjBlizzard went left olympus and started to bot on posiden. he made friends. so when i came back from wow and dj invited me into his vent. theys hella tight. if you think this story has no point then your wrong, but if you think that i cant tell stories for shit and i add in alot of unimportant details then thats ok.
