If it was early 70 cap then I would say yes. Back then botting was considered bad and the people that did were left as outcasts. Today its nothing like that. If you get "caught" botting it is almost meaningless. Since getting caught has no repercussions barely any of them sit around watching their chars.

but that would be generalizing. just because its liek that on venus server doesnt mean all botters on all the other servers baby sit. plus people in my union say its possible to turn auto retaliate off. Apparently thats what makes the bot attack back automatically if you attack it. Plus i think they have alarms or something that makes noise when things happen. so if theres a noise when you attack them why would they need to baby sit? they could go off and do something like watch a movie and if they hear it thy could always go back, unless you count watchign a movie at home babysitting too...

i dunno but i agree a lot of botters are decent people you just need to get to knwo them first

Umm thats just a stereotype from people who seem to have no clue, not saying you are that way. Most legits are the ones spend hours playing this game. Most botters are not part of some forum to spend their day posting. But these are just inaccurate stereotypes.
Actually more legits tend to be fully sunned than botters. I've seen too many legits that are broke one day and the next loaded up with 3 Bil and a full set of sun.
I dunno how it is on your server. But on Aege if you bot, you don't tend to buy as much gold.
But if your legit your buying tons of gold and enough for a full sun and tons extra.
TBH this game is much more fun the higher lvls you are. The higher lvl you are the less turks are a pest. The less high lvls pick on you. I could keep the list going but thats besides the point.

Your post would carry more weight if you didn't refer to gold buyers as legits. If people buy gold, they are not legit. Legit means you play the game legitimately, aka without cheating, without going against the rules or the 'ethical standards' of gameplay in the community. That's just in my opinion at least.

It's true that once someone purchases gold, they are no longer legit. The observation may be over generalized but the action of gold purchase is common in any server. Growth of gold selling companies is proof of this. Which brings us to ethical standards of gameplay, basically defined by the community of gamers. "Community of gamers", since we're not in a real world community but in a false community of gamers that play a game, in itself defines the 'ethical standards'. The common 'standard' has shifted. It is the natural course of mmos or any game where rules are not enforced.

Players who try to enforce their 'standards' in game, if for no other reason than for fun, I would argue to have no bearing on their life's priorities. It is a game, not more.

What you say is 100% true. But on Aege 90% of the legits buy gold. They don't consider buying gold not legit. Almost all of them will deny it or ignore you but you can tell. They will talk about being broke and with crappy gear and the next day with sun parts and a good 500+mil to toss around. How does someone with nothing go from 10 mil to over 500 mil overnight?

i agree, but have you ever heard that the world can't afford a cure? think about it, every year millions(Maybe billions) are spent on cancer research and there are places all around the world that search for the cure. What happens when we find it? all those people and places will be shut down. People will be out of jobs etc. Now lets put this as JoyMax, Botters are the cancer, they spend money on this game probably about the same as legit people. They find a cure, they lose the money, if the risk is higher than the reward they won't take it. Simple business skills. They go by banning a few bots here and there and keep the general community happy. As long as the money comes in those bots will be going.

Um... those facilities that research to find cures for cancers are not just cancer research facilities. Even if they devoted 100% of their time to cancer research now, if they find a cure for it, they'll just find another disease to research. If all known diseases are cured, new diseases will be identified and the search for a cure will continue.
