Disappearing Threads?

I know I'm old and my memory is fading but I swear there are threads disappearing from the Venus section. Mods have historically left the section threads to their own devices. Can someone in charge explain the new heavy-handedness? Is there a reason for locking and deleting so many threads when we're essentially just keeping to ourselves? Just curious.

Just change the word "post" at the end of his Topic and change it to "thread". I think it fits nicely.

If there's flaming, putting out the fire is necessary, no matter what section it is in.

Things get deleted/locked on other forums much quicker and more often than here on SRF.

*Edit: doh I forgot the link; and as Bizzle/Cels said, some guys spammed / flamed and I'm sure he posted in that one too.

some guy massively spammed GD and venus section, rek "massively deleted" threads, so maybe the bob thread was caught in there..............................

I agree with you, like the thread about Bob/Abdullah/Ks_Master. Why was it deleted??

That was one.

There was another one talking about someone who was banned from Asylum that seems to have been deleted.

And a few others.

All of which contained important discussion of our server, guilds and members.

I didn't see much flaming but if there were any, the flames could have easily been dealt with by deleting posts, not the whole thread.

And Bizzle, I thought the mods could delete all the posts by a single user instead of just deleting all the threads. It seems kinda absurd that we could lose so many valuable threads because some asshole spams them.

We can control and mass move threads [Only admins can delete whole accounts], but we usually don't delete them [the threads]. We move them to X-files. I'll try to retrieve the thread[s] if they haven't been deleted. I couldn't find the bob one; it must have been deleted in the crossfire. Some good threads from the OTL and GD were moved.
