By buying elixirs you are most likely buying an elixir dropped by a bot. However, this is not supporting gold bots. While gold bots get elixir drops, they also get gold drops, which seemingly inflates the price of the individual elixir. Disregarding the fortress tax, trading, npc'ing items and quests, all gold in the game ultimately comes from gold drop off monsters, which is how the gold bots get the elixirs as well.

The supply of elixirs will increase as the gold bots inflate the prices of 8D weapon drops, balancing the elixir price. The reason elixir prices are so high is because this supply is rapidly used up by the eager consumption of players who want to + their weapons, while gold usually remains in circulation throughout the SRO economy.

All this didn't really answer your question. It sought to explain why you cannot blame the inflated elixir prices solely on gold bots. Listen up though.

Buying a product is a simple thing: both the buyer and the seller feel they have something to gain. If you buy food, you feel that you got the better deal because you aren't starving. On the flip side, since a farmer may have a surplus of food, he would rather be the merchant selling it.
