Rogue is not really needed in lower levels, maybe at higher levels - I'm not sure.

As for sub, cleric is, IMO, the best for rogues but you'll find a really hard time getting into parties as an STR cleric. It's manageable, as other high levels have done it, but it's not preferred since most INTs are sub cleric.

The same applies for bard, it's just that you see more STR bards than STR clerics.

If you want to scratch that, I recommend you try warrior.

Main mastery = rogue Sub-mastery=bard pure str

I think I will do fine, im not sure. Rogues are usually lures and they backup the tank.

No. Rogues may get into pt as a damage dealer when there are empty slots and noone in line. Apart from that there is no place for rogues in euro pt. Warrior will be always better than rogue as a tank because he can hold aggro, give ints fences, protect and pain quota. And they can lure better too.

Nah, a rogue lure way faster then a warrior. The tricky part is to get the mobs on the tank, but it is not that hard when everyone knows what they are doing.

Uh yeah okay..........there were always places in Ninja parties for rogues or whatever class someone chose to play because most of us I think actually play the game for fun. So if the kid wants to roll a rogue and sounds like he enjoyed it before why discourage that by making it sound like he will be ostracized from being able to party. What legit builds you except in a party is solely based on choice. If more people got back to playing the game for fun with in game friends and stopped looking for the "perfect party" it would be a whole helluva nicer place to play (Venus that is). God people - sometimes this continuing saga is so damn irritating.

So you say it is better not to tell him the disadvantages of rogue and let him be surprised later that he can't get into parties? If he is choosing this build he should be aware of it's playability.

No but I am saying it shouldn't be that way and we need to change it. When you tell people sorry but the choice you make or are going to make is going to have you "banned" from parties (and I use that term because as you said unless there is a spot and no one waiting in line you won't be allowed in a party not allowed = banned). When Chinese characters are pretty much told go solo - you have no place playing with a party of us Euros because we aren't here to only have fun, we are hear to have fun and get the highest most perfect amount of xp/sp we can and you being in the party screws that up........same with Rogues. I cry BS!!!!

There have been too many threads about this already and no need to start another long one here.

I think it is up to us on Venus - the legits that all gather here together for a better playing experience, away from the bot infestations we come from - to say "you know what, let's make it fun for everyone". Sure, you can have your perfect parties but you can also have your "not so perfect ones to" and have everyone join in the fun.

Grrrrrr

Thanks wrath, I am going to be xbow/bard.

I don't care if this is a bad class, I play for fun and I'd rather have fun playing a character I like then some overused warlock or warrior.

Unfortunately some people have made up their mind on the "best pt setup" and some people just want to get the most exp/sp possible. Cath is partly right, finding a party as a rogue is rather impossible. They might be better lurers than warriors, but people would still want a warrior over a rogue.

Anyways, gl with the build ;). If you dont mind not getting into parties, get sub cleric, and then u can take on giants 7lvls higher =P

I still can get into parties as im a bard even though thats what ill be doing most of the time in the party but sometimes there's just partys recuirting any people so they have a full pt.

I recommand about cleric .. cause bard is not really helping out here .. or you could use dagger for the low lvls .. pretty fast attacks even though it's low dmg .

I couldn't agree more. I wish people would just stop worrying so much about the 'perfect party' and just enjoy playing the game with friends. Next thing you know, guilds won't let new members in unless the new member has an 'approved build' and at least SUN+7 weapon.

I'm a pure STR rogue/bard and I pretty much just grind solo. Although I have been invited to parties as both a rogue and a bard on a few occasions. So I know the 'non-perfect' parties are out there... somewhere. ;-)

the higher level you get the more of a disadvantage you get... rogues are ONLY good as lures.
you'll only be using fast bolt books. you can't KD cause that fucks the wizards, you can't KB cause that fucks the party (making people move and messing up tanks)

you'll be fine str barding if there is NO int bard on.. but there usually is an INT bard on. Still you can atleast go in a party and dance and cycle like 2 people as well as yourself once you get dances.

but are you going to farm and have enough sp to keep bard FULL farmed? you need the most recent tam dance and cycle. then you'll most likely need the passive to reduce mana consumption..

So being a rogue you're good at a few things. stealth, annoying the **** out of people (KB and KD), and failing at whatever sub you get (unless it's warrior).

you will eventually get very tired of being not wanted in parties and reroll yet again.
