Im hoping some of you guides people could also transfer some of your knowledge in the new SilkRoad Wiki. Its pretty bare atm and could really use some starter articles.

Write about anything you know about. How things work, simple things. Job system, hunting, trading, fortress wars, honor system, etc... Even your guild and its history. There is so much that someone who is just starting on SRO might want to know!

This wiki was built by Cruor and he has done a remarkable job. He deserves mad props. LOL

If you're talking about Wikipedia, I updated it quite recently, a lot was outdated, changed nearly every part beside "Game problems and Exploits".
You should have seen it one month ago, the base was correct, but it really missed a lot.

This is an ENTIRE wiki dedicated to SilkRoad, not just a single page in Wikipedia.

Ah like that, great idea and looks nice (beside the empty pages ^^)

Added Character,
Added Character Creation,
Added Builds,
Added Tactics,
Added Equipment,
Added Triangular conflict,
Added Masteries,
Added Game Updates,
Updated Guilds,

Added quite in a rush cause I'm hungry, but it's a start, and hope this triggers more people to add something/edit what I wrote.
And yes I know I copied parts from wikipedia.org, but I only copied parts I wrote myself with the exception of that server list.

Wikis are meant to be built by as many people as possible. That is what makes them such great resources. No one person writes it and its the collective knowledge of the whole community.

It has some. The guides database tho is going to be removed because the wiki will replace most of them. The builds guides are mostly subjective opinion and will go into the forum itself, with the informational guides added to the wiki. When that process is complete, the database will be deleted.

We think the wiki, with its versatility is a far greater way to impart knowledge about SRO because as things change, the wiki will flow and mold itself to reflect that.

I am really excited about this project. Im really looking forward to seeing it grow.

I'm not good with wiki's when I don't know all the functions they have to offer... Might want to tell Cruor to actually fill in that help page...

Maybe you should get a better adress instead a sub adress of your domain.
I mean, like srowiki.com, etc, would be easier to remember.

Fixed the quest page a bit so people can start filling up the rest.

That is actually a good idea. Ill talk to the big kids about it.

Although, is SilkRoad Addiction really that hard to remember? We made is so all you have to do is type: http://silkroadaddiction.com/wiki

And there is a button to it on the main page... also all our map links now point to the wiki as well.

I edited and added a lot on the Triangular Conflict page. If anyone has useful screenshots, you can add them

EDIT: added all Venice guilds, boy that took me long time =P

You guys are doing a fantastic job.

We were thinking about making the person with the most contributions to the wiki a sysops.

Fly and I cant watch it all the time and a sysops can fix things when someone makes a bad change, etc.

Quick note. If you're going to take things directly / pretty much directly except paraphrased please cite back in the wiki page.

Also, if your work has been lifted from somewhere and you would like it removed, go ahead and do so. Just leave a message on the talk page with the original source that you want removed and it will remain deleted. I am not the copyright police. I do not check everything, nor am I going to go delete pages someone claims to be theirs without proof. It would be nicer tho for you to add that the information was written by you, give yourself credit and a link to the original source. I guarantee tho that your original guide will change over time and eventually not even resemble its original self.

A wiki is publically editable. That means if you feel the information is unfair, incorrect, plagerized etc, you have a voice. You dont even have to sign up.

If you DO use someones guide, link back to the source or at least give their name.
