I’m not going to talk a lot about why people sp farm and why its better...because there is about 100 guides out there telling you the same thing. SP farming is a must! If you are planing to play until lvl60+ you have to sp farm(you don't have to...but it is the best way), there is no argument here. If you lvl with a gap less then 9 and think your going to be fine...you are going to find your self in trouble once u hit 50+ or so. This is because the smaller the gap the more insignificant amount of sp you get. It has been proven that the sp gap is most effective at 9(max)
This has been proven many times, if your lvling with a 1-8 gap, it just won’t cut it at higher lvls...and that is why people lvling with gaps will stop and sp farming at higher lvls some more. SP farming all your sp at lvl 16, and lvling with 0 gap is the best way to do it because it maximizes your sp gain and when you lvl with 0 gap it maximizes your exp intake and most importantly SAVES YOU TIME in the long run.
How to power sp farm
A lot of guides out there are telling you to lvl to 10 without putting any masteries until lvl 10 then put 5, then lvling to 14 and keeping a 9 gap all the way until lvl16. This is POINTLESS, here is the better way to sp farm.
Lvl to 7 and every lvl put in your masteries until lvl 7, after lvl 7 do not touch your skill tree any more, when you get to lvl 16 you will have a 9 SPG. Doing this instead of the way mentioned above is because when you are lvling from 1-10 with gap and 14-16 with 9 lvl SPG is slow, very very slow, and the exp from PVE is very low at lower lvls, therefore giving small amounts of sp. People that get to lvl 16 with the first method end up with about 2k sp when lvl16, with the power sp farming method, you get to 16 with about 1.5k sp, but in about 1/4of the time, 1/4 of the time, 1/4 of the time(I repeated it because it will sink in better in your head). When your actually farming for sp, you will get 500+ sp very quickly.
When you reach lvl 16 with your 9SPG, usually people will tell you to go to bandit archers, in the middle of the bandit camp, where the instant bandit archer spawn is and get a sos bow and 1 hit them, killkillkillkill, this is very irresponsible because a lot of newer players find out that when they get there, they can hardly get kills and monkeys steeling thier drops. Now I will help you prepare for the bandit archer spawn. First of all, with a lvl16 sos bow, you are not even close to 1 hitting bandit archers, hell you can’t even 2 hit ko them even with lvl2 fire imbu(its suppose to be at lvl2 with lvl7 fire mastery(if you are going fire). Second a lot of players cannot even afford sos bows in the first place. Power sp farming overcomes that.
Power sp farming way.(for pure str, pure intel use +intel items)
When you get to lvl 16, start looking for your EQ,(you should at least have some money, assuming you always pick up your gold and sell the items you find in stalls), as for your bow, a lvl16 sos would be best, if you get 1 Alchemy it to +2,+3 if you are feeling lucky. Don’t go for +4 its not worth the risk and the money for a few more dmg(if your rich...why not). If you are one of those that cannot afford a lvl16 sos bow, don’t worry just find a good crit lvl16 bow with + anything or + str. Now as for your EQ, you should wear garments garments garments, this will give you 20% decrease in spell cost and 20% MS. This is a must, it will save you tons of money on mana pots and help you get from 1 monster to the next faster(therefore more exp). Now keep lvling and doing quests while keeping your masteries at lvl7, yes! Keep lvling! The quests now are giving plenty of exp, allowing minimal grinding time, meaning if you do all your quests you should be lvling up fairly quickly(refer to the quest guide to see what is there). Now keep lvling and questing as high as you can, at least lvl18 is suggested(only if you have a good bow, the weaker lvl16 bow you have the higher you should lvl.), but the higher the better, it would help a lot if you had a good lv18 now and 21 bow waiting for you. Now at a good lvl get your friend with revive and Delevel you back to lvl16(die,revive,repeat)(you also get 2%sp for exp lost so a bonus ^_^). If you have lvled to 21 and deleveled back to lvl16 you will have 20 extra str now,(that adds a lot of dmg)and extra intel as well.
A lot of reading up there, so here if where you should be. Lvl16 with 20+ bonus str, EQ with +str (hopefully at least 5 str or more), and a good lvl16 bow. Now here is where the fun begins(irony). Your are set to go kill bandit archers now ^_^. With fire imbu and good +str EQ and sosbow+3, you should be able to 1 hit bandit archers most of the time. For those with a budget, you can still 2-hit kill bandit archer which will do as well. Now make a party make a party make a party with exp distribution, and having a full team(3 others) and you will get 9% bonus in exp for everything you kill. Yes finally my favorite...~_~, killkillkillkillkill, farm to 50ksp at least(this can vary depending on your build), the more the better and lvling with 0 gap afterwards.
Extras
If you are planing to play SRO, for awhile, invest in a monkey for the 4 weeks of sp farming! When you sp farm, you DO NOT pick up anything(unless sos drop). Why not let your monkey do the work and make you few HUNDRED THOUSAND GOLD!
Try to find a good group to party with, it will make you pass the time much faster if your chatting ^_^, and they will stay in the party as well ^_^.
Save your berserk for giants, and don’t forget to use your fire imbue while in berserk form( a lot of people forget to use skills while in berserker form.)
Turn on some music to help you pass the time! Don’t discouraged, it WILL PAY OFF IN THE END.
No matter what your gonig to use later, you should still get lvl7 bow mastered, and lvl7 fire , for high dmg output, you can always delevel it later. At higher, deleveling skills won't be such a burden on your wallet ^_^(most of the time you won't even need to...unlikely to get to 70+)
