Party Tips for Clerics/Sub-Clerics

Party Tips for Cleric aspirants:

-If you are added to a party full of INTs and your the only Cleric/Sub-Cleric...leave...it just isn't worth it...

-You can and will be b*tched out...the sooner you accept this...the lesser you care if they die for not doing as they're told...

-If someone is a Warrior/Wizard...and is full INT...and chooses to idiotically close in on their opponents...let them die...

-If people run off from the group to hunt a certain mob in the distance...let them die

-If someone is just standing there letting a mob aggro you...never heal them again...also let them die...

-Anyone who fails to even remotely contribute in a manner that *YOU* feel is meaningful...let them die

-Stick close to who *YOU* feel or know is gonna sacrifice themselves to help you escape from harm...they get absolute priority over everyone else

-If it is not an item share party...do not join...

-Sometimes you have to make a point to party members...often they won't really realize just how much you are personally propping the whole party up...if you feel overwhelmed go and have a seat for a little bit...watch them crumble...they'll learn very fast...

Clerics *MUST* from day one set the party tempo, if your letting people walk all over you and make you feel bad for not doing this or that...take command...*YOU MUST* prioritize who gets what and at what time...for the sake of yourself and the longevity of the party...people will die...the sooner they accept that everyone has there place the quicker they understand and will work better for the good of the whole...

If you have any tips then please share them :)

Be aware this isn't meant to be a guide of sorts...just tips and such from other clerics/sub-clerics own personal experiences so far

Really valuable information/ thoughts. And I'm not being funny.

My experiences from yesterday

- The pot limit is only half cSROs and I still have my hands more than full, because the people are so dumb.
- I set my focus on the partys warrior if we have one (and myself =P), everyone else comes second.
- If someone runs off into a crowded area and dies, I let him lay there until, maybe, the rest of the party can safely advance. I did try to res some people on my own and it just isn't worth it.
- I will heal a tanking wizzard if I can, but I won't give him any buffs that I have to recast every of the countless times he goes down.

I've played the healing class for a long time now and the sooner you realize that not everything is your fault, the better. People will always blame the healer for deaths and wipes. The problem is that people tend to feel like they're invisible when there are healers around and they stop using healing pots. There's one tip that I can offer others and that is:

*Always heal yourself before others. If they die, you can rez them, but if you die, it's over.

My top tip: Take command

In any MMO my favorite classes are either the tank or cleric. Why? Well mostly because of the phrase "if you want something done right, do it yourself". These two classes are almost ESSENTIAL in any good party. Because of this, one of them should be a leader, preferably the cleric.

I love playing the leader of a party, and in saying this I love playing the cleric support class cos it lets you see what is going on in the group and who or what your weaknesses are. Your seeing who is taking a lot of damage, and whether someone is stepping out of line (most often this is stepping out of healing range >.<). If your getting someone in the party that is calling you a noob, either don't heal him to teach them a lesson, or kick them and get a new member; warrior/caster classes are easy to find.

Start your own party. It will take a week or so for old silkroad players to realise, but people will be begging for clerics in their party. Party cleric = smaller down time between kills.

Another tip: play a giving cleric

You see people who are outside of your party sitting down? Heal them. Most of the time they will thank you. Even better, this makes them realize that a cleric is around and they will want to join your party.

This is useful, but i would advise giving people a chnace; i have been healing in MMOs for over 4 years now, and althoguh only recently joined SRO i like to think i know what im doing, at least when it comes to spamming that heal button.

HOWEVER just because you know what your doing, doesnt mean other will, as the OP said, if ppl do things wrong let them die (walk too far away, allow you to get aggro... or, as i kept finding yesturday when trying at lvl 15 to keep a 8 man party alive solo, a mage decides that he wants to enter melee range and tank). But tell them why you let them die, dont just get cross and leave the group, let ppl learn, many of them may have no experiance in group work if SRO is the only game they play (cSRO has very very little true party work involved).

Finally as the guy above me said, Tank and Healer are they too most important classes, 90% of the time you can get away with a rubbish party, if your healer and tank are on the ball. As such remember good warriors you meet, add them to friends, and if you do a good job healing im sure they will happily work again with you, having a warrior who has mastered taunt, and watches party members HP (in theory it sounds very simple, but an awful lot dont do it) will make your life a lot easier.

This might be a stupid question...but should a Cleric be INT or STR? I was thinking pure INT so you have a lot of MP, but I'm not sure if I've overlooked anything.

int all the way for bard and clerics imo..you could of course go hybrid with int main..but at the possibility that you will die quickly anyway with no protection why not go for more powerful attack power..and try kill mobs before they get to you and have a chance to hit a few blows..also in a party youll need the mp and not so much the hp as you will have to perform alot of buffs etc and the rest of party..if they care bout teamwork will not let any mobs get near you.. :D

Yeah, that was what I was thinking, and that's why I chose pure INT for my bard/cleric. :)

Hopefully people will need buffers and healers more than wizards, who are EVERYWHERE. xD

this is THE tip anyways im started whit warrior but didnt work out...why? well didnt have smart cleric whit me.....then rouge...same prob...then i got smart considering i have some leadership atributes and i realized ( took me long enought :banghead: ) that cleric is THE most important part of party then i started whit cleric now im lvl 20 cleric shit 3 kick ass heal's :D
sadly i can not find enought smart ppl for my guild i cant aford
also in a party youll need the mp and not so much the hp as you will have to perform alot of buffs etc and the rest of party..if they care bout teamwork will not let any mobs get near you

-Res everybody, even other that are not in your party
-Dont try to act like an wizard, but that dose not mean you just stay there and spam res, stand back and cast some dmg spells but focus on keeping others alive
-Bless your warrior whit str or wizards whit int,but focus on the warrior because wizards do loads more dmg
