[Guide] Rogue Guide

If you decide to be a Rogue you will be a valuable asset in parties and in PvP.
Rogues MUST be either pure Strength or a little bit of Hybrid with most on strength. Trust me when I say your character will be terrible if your rogue is not.DO NOT go pure INT

The second thing is the requirements for rogue
you must wear light armor and using either dual daggers or a crossbow.
heres the link telling about the rogue http://www.silkroadonline.net/teaser/eu ... tery=melee
this is the official silkroad europe legends 1 page.

I've heard the many people asking about whether the crossbow or daggers are better and i have also put up my own poll to see which one would be most used. In my 5 day poll i received 22 overall votes and 59% was for daggers and 40% were for the crossbow.Heres the link for that poll so you can see the comments made arguing which was better. http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic ... 120#592120
As you will see some people say they will max out both skill trees for xbow and dags and I have also decided to max both out.

Heres the advantages of each,
    Crossbow
  • Is long range
  • Has knockdown once you reach a high level
  • Skill is learned where you can also attack them while they are down before you learn knockdown.Useful once you get the knockdown skill
  • Does a good amount of damage but not as much as the Daggers
  • From what I have been told it is better for PvE
  • Can kill mobs quickly
    Dual Daggers
  • Is better for massive damage and one hit kills
  • Has poison skills and poison power ups causing alot of damage over time
  • Has effective power ups for dagger making it possible as a nuke weapon
  • Is most effective in party play when someone can heal you
  • Has a speed up specifically for stealth with dagger
  • Has stun

If you would like to see the masteries for the rogue and it's weapons here is a link for the skill translation for rogue. http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=21424
The silkroad online official site has also updated so it show the skills translation. Here is that link http://www.silkroadonline.net/gameinfo/ ... astery=M02 For the better of the two i would go to the silkroad official site.

Probably the most valuable skill you will have as a rogue is invisibility. With it you can sneak up on people in stealth and with all your dagger power-ups possibly kill them in one hit  .This is a major advantage for you so your daggers short range will not be to much a liability. Over all your invisibility skill is an extreme asset to being a rogue player

One of the skills you will notice copies an enemy and you become it for somewhere around 15 minutes. To use this skill you must be an equal or higher level then the monster. This mastery is called Essence of the Dead. You can also copy other people. If you want to see it watch this video on youtube. It seems like it would be fun to do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOyJ82-uYqM&NR=1
You can also summon a monster but both of these skills can only been obtained at a high level.

Some people argue for which subclass would be the best. Your 2 options are cleric/bard or warrior. Warriors as a subclass will allow you to tank more effectively while being a passive healer can be an effective subclass because healing is very useful especially because of the new 20 second potion delay.I personally am going to probably go either cleric or bard depending on which I like more once I've seen them.
That is all I can think of to tell you about the Rogue and i hope you like this guide :D .If you have any more questions either send me a message or post and i'll try to look every once and a while to see. Please leave comments about my guide and any updates i could make 8)

# Once knockdown is learned you can also attack them while they are down

You can actually attack them with a skill while they're down before you learn the actual knockdown skill. But nice guide, hopefully this'll stop all the questions about rogues that are flooding the forums.

And there are practical reasons to do so. If you just select one, you sacrifice one of your rogues greatest assets in party playing: flexibility. In a party lacking damage dealers (= wizards), the crossbow can make up for that to some extend (plus due to the great range, you can even deliver quicker support) and in a party lacking tankers (=warriors) you can fill in that position using daggers. While others will outperform you in their particular field, you will be the MacGyver of SRO.

Nice guide, I hope you continue to update it once euro comes out and we have a better feel for the pros and cons of the different builds.

I was thinking of being a rouige with daggers, reading about the poison effect and the stealth really kicked my spirits. Usually I'm the one imagined myself with the big sword slaughtering everything in my way. But I feel for a change, for once o.o;

can wizards see invisibility the SAME lvl AND lower, or JUST lower, because if they can see the same lvl, then two lvl 80's that would make a huge different if the wizard couldnt see him

thanks for the complements and the edits to make this guide better :D .I plan to keep updating it. For the previous question I believe the wizard skill is same as the rogue detect skill where you see people your level and anyone below your level.
Keep the comments coming thanks

sry but i disagree. for pve both are good if u play in party. if u have nice healer dagger maibe even better. And for pvp what daggers can do? only sneak up to enemy and kil it in few hits. I think xbow is more efective in pvp cause it have knock down and knock back. Crossbow allmost everytime use this tactic: knock down enemy then knockback it and then shot last shot with long shot skill (20lvl) or higher lvl skill if he is that lvl :D. and then if enemy does not fail then crossbow dyes :D. but dagger can only sneak up to enemy and 1hit it but if he doesnt make it? then dagger rogue will dye allmost everytime cause it cant use much pots. so i think crossbow is better in pvp

I like daggers a lot because in ALL the other mmo's i have i always made a bowman so i want to change to daggers, do you think i will be ok if i only do daggers, not bow, and combine it with cleric?

+1 No doubt

In crossbow the distance can save your life, but if you really know how to play, switching weapons can change the whole battle ^^, nice guide but there are only advantages there... most ppl still think stealth last for a long time and it's 1m, the speed buff last 15secs, you can poison with the crossbow, it's good to kill from far
Oh, don't forget about the masks, from lvl20 you can be monster shape, use their attacks for some 15/30m, and sell the masks around 100~200k or more depending on lvl :D, one more thing the second mask lvl you are able to use a monster as a pet, that is very cool, tink it last some hours ( :? )
Anyway nice job =D, try to get the rogue skill tree here, just the images or even with names

The first skill, "Monster Mask", gives you a mask that makes you look like the corresponding monster, while you only do your standard attack damage.

The second skill, "Duplicate", makes you look like another player and I suppose you only do your standard attacks damage while in this form.

The third skill, "Beast Mask", which I haven't seen in action yet, as it is neither in CSRO nor translated in this forum, just seems like an upgraded version of "Monster Mask" enabeling you to use the monsters skills. That could mean pirates poison attack (like the rogue one) for example.

Where does that "make a monster your pet" come into play?
