NOOB Pure Str Fire Glavie Build - What type of armor to use?

Hi Folks!

For my 1st character in Silkroad, I started a pure str fire glavie build. What type of armor should I use? It seems to me starting with "Armor" would be best for almost everyone given most low level monsters dish out physical damage, and no need to change until you start fighting something like 'Black Tigers' then goto Protector or Garment. But for a pure str build maybe you go with Protector or Garment earlier. I don't know, I'm confused.

What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
twarg1
P.S. Sorry, I probably should have posted this in "Q&A" instead of "Guides & Tutorials".

Thanks,

Good points! How much difference does the type of armor make in Silkroad, even at higher levels? Is there a table that shows physical and magical damage by monster versus a characters level and type of armor used ... OR ... a damage calculator where you can plugin your defensive skills, armor, etc. and get a feel of the actual benefits different armors provide?

i m a pure str wearing garment since lv 1 to now..... dont worry about the table, just wear the best garments u have then u will be fine, some people say wear armor at cave cause they all physical except the nachals, but i still wear garments anyway, as long u dont die, no need to change to armor or protectors, garments gives u 20% increase in speed and 20% mp usage reduce...

garments
this will cut down on your mp cost, increases your speed, and give u great magical defense
for this reason is because a pure str already has massive physical defense, as well as pitiful mp-use garments and mp will become less of a problem

garments also help grinding time because of the increased speed-getting to a mob faster only works in your favor

Wear garments. If you can get a good protector set, don't hesitate on using it :)

Thanks Everyone!

I went to garments and it makes a HUGE difference fighting the Black Tigers! I take about HALF the damage I use to with Armor, and the physical damage difference is hardly noticeable.

Thanks Again,
