WHAT IS PK2 EDITING?

I was reading those two articles about PK2 editing and well.... what is the purpose of it?

It's basically just for your amusement. Your weapons do not actually get better, your horse's speed does not increase by replacing it with uruchi, your wolf does not hit harder as Lord Yarkan... and no one can see what you've done except you.

I was reading those two articles about PK2 editing and well.... what is the purpose of it?

pk2 files are media files. as you play, the computer loads these
media files and thats why you can see your character and everything
else in the game. the pk2 files are adjustable by coding; you can
change your 2nd degree armor to an 8th degree armor just to see
how it looks. you can also make your weapons/shields get a sos,som
or sosun glow just for fun.
these changes in clothing/mobs/weapons/etc can only be seen by your
own client. the other persons on the server will just see you in your
original armor.
