Whether you are broke and want a quick chance at a few bucks or are incredably tired of getting your money snitched away, no matter which end of the spectrum you lay on, this should have a purpose for you. I wish to compile a list of successful scams that we have either encountered or concocted. I really am not that sneaky of a person and haven't had all that bad of luck, although my friends constantly tell me about people scamming them.
Anyhow, list your experiences (in as few words possible), and I will add them to the list. Let's just see where it goes...I've tried to start it a little with things I've seen/heard of...
SCAM LIST:
A. Common Successful Overpricing
-Job Items (Black Suits, ID Cards, White Flags)
(Actual worth: 10K)
B. Suddenly Changing Price Mid-trade?
C. Asking for Passwords...
-To "Buy Silk" for you
-Pretending to be GM??
Well, anything can be changed or removed...just trying to give the idea a visual form

Eh, whats this? A list of scams?
Ok, how about those people selling regular ID cards, white flags and black suits at 300k, with a stall saying "Event items cheap".
I actually saw someone buy one o.O

they call that investment. not scam...
people bought stuff from others and sell it in high price. of coz people will search good stuff that is cheap and sell them high..?? wont you? i prefer things like selling thief suits for 300k..that's a scam!! but investment differs. though...i dont scam..i invest..
talking bout scam, " Selling SOS stuff for 200Mill...now that is crap. try to trade 100times back and forth just for that..worth it? if its a lvl 64 glavie, u nearly finish the godam game..wanna have a boring trade for thousand times??

Well it kinda serves those cash buyers right! If they have enough money to burn on this game, then they should have enough to get sc4m3d.

1 people trying to sell a black suit as a black devil for 300k is stupid because it goes for 440k to NPC so people trying that just look like idiots.....

Marking something up is one thing,Trying to trick new players just seems morally wrong..Thats the bitch about Karma...You have to believe you're morally wrong for it to be effective....Then again most scammers i run into aren't the brightest ppl. in the world but a fool and his money are soon to part...More cliche's? If it's too good to be true well then the other ppl. that didn't buy it were idiots and you're the lone genius?
ok ok you get the point...I guess what i've noticed in games like this that seems so well hidden in real life is how many low life mofo's there are in the word...Maybe thats why i hate ppl.

Well, as a new player in the world of SRO I appreciate threads like this. The pricing structure here is totally different than the one in WoW, and I haven't a clue what stuff is worth, so being able to come to a site and get an idea of some of the big things to watch out for is appreciated.
By the way, great website, and hello to y'all

One possible solution:
just say "WTS [name of the item you want to sell], pm offers" then potential buyers will private msg you their offers

Agreed. Selling an item for triple its value isn't a scam. You can call it a rip-off to sell a black suit (worth 10k) for 30k, but it's not a scam. It wouldn't be morally wrong to sell the suit for that price. However, if you try to sell an item, claiming it is something else (black suit vs. black devil suit) then that IS a scam.
I mean, there were a few times I put a bundle of 250 arrows in my stall for 1 million gold for the sole purpose of keeping the stall open until the morning so I can read notes people leave me -- I know no one would actually buy the arrows. Am I scamming?

If you wanted to know, some guy in my server "sells" a lvl 32 SoS sword and it turns out to be a lvl 1 SoS sword. (Because they look alike)
