The above icon, can be right clicked when you have a Mount or Trade animal out, so you can access his command below.
Notice player who owns the Monkey is above the Monky's name.
This is the monkey commands, best to just right click on them. The far left one that looks like a scroll opens up the below window.
This is your basic window. Beware if you set your Monkey's name thats it. The only way that you might be able to change it is to. Wait a month, and get a new one. (Trading him will not change his name we tested it.)
Here is his inventory, not sure how you gain more space on him, however he will loot whatever you sethim for below. To sell items in his pack, you have to put them in your backpack first. You can move things from his pack to yours while talking to a merchant.
Notice the settings. I recomend if you have him set on "Grab all Items" That you turn him to off when you enter town. As anything dropped will make him run to it and loot it even 1 arrow. Beware some people hate it when your Monkey is set for "Grab all Items", since this little guy has a long range for detecting and picking up loot. Also if your a archer you will probably want him to pick up "Other Items" so you get any arrow drops. For those who are getting items they do not want, i recomend you move a long ways away from your normal hunting area, set him to off, then drop the items. Once your back to your area you can turn him back onto ON.
The new Charm button in your actions windows works with monkeys, it makes them dance, and also return to you.
A quick note, he will pick up your quest items, and will put them directley into your backpack.
Also one a monkey scroll is activated its timer will not be reset if someone else grabs him. So if you want to buy one insure his timer is 28 days, which is 4 weeks.
Also if you terminate your monkey he will go back into your backpack, his timer once activated keeps ticking weather used or not. He can be put in your storage for 9k.
Also once his backpack is full, he is switched to OFF and will pick up nothing, not even gold.
Hope this helps some.

Bug:
Ok found out a bug with the monkey, me & a clan member were in a party with share items set, he had a monkey, I did not.
His monkey was set to grab all stuff, well I was on a quest, when the scorpian venoms dropped his monkey was picking up my quest items & going to him even though he did not have quest, they were stuck in his inventory so he could not give them to me & would have to sell to npc.
The quest items are blue bags, different colour to arrows for example so quest items are considered as "other" items.
So if you're in a party w/ shared item drop & someone is doing a quest, untick "other" items.

ah interesting... didn't know a lot about monkeys
thanks!
does gold show, though? i didn't see any on the monkey, so i actually just assumed that it goes to the player automatically?
and does the monkey stack item automatically?
for example, if i drop 1 arrow, 1 arrow, 1 arrow... would that take up 3 spaces in his inventory? I would assume that'd only take up 1....
bah... but boy would i like to fill up the monkey if i see any monkey botters...

i didnt know about the quest issue either, as far as stacking, yes except its just like your pack when it comes to arrows sometimes it does sometimes it does not. and gold goes directly to you.
also the bug might have to do with you guys sharing, cause he ignores others quest items when i use him.

Just wanted to ask for conformation here - will the monkey's time still go down, even if you are logged off? Basically is it 4 weeks, or 4 weeks of in game time that the monkey stays for?

monkey's time runs 24/7, logged in or not.
gold goes directly into your inventory.

I'm gonna buy an inventory full of lvl 1 items, ride to the bandit stronghold, drop them, buy new lvl 1 items and repeat...and repeat...and repeat.
EDIT: And if I could get a few other people to go along with me, we could really make life hard for the botters...uh...I mean monkey users.

why

heh, that's an idea... use it for 27 days and then sell it back for 700k, lol. the NPC price doesn't depend on the time left?

Settings to grab everything? Out of curtousy to others, I keep my monkey's settings to grab only my drops. Yes other players hate these things stealing their drops. If they get mobbed unexpectedly, they can loose a small fortune to your thieving monkey! Happened all the time to me before I got one.
Keep the setting to grab your drops only. If you see some drops that someone else has clearly neglected and left alone by choice, pick it up yourself, move on.
There are other archers out there, and if you can afford an 88 silk monkey, well then you can afford the 8 silk 10,000 arrow quiver.

I'm new and have a few questions about monkies.
1, how much do they cost?
2, where can you buy them?
3, will jetjetjetjet's idea work?
Thanks

Hmm I disagree. Last night I left my monkey out while I was selling items at a stall while I slept. BAD IDEA. My monkey and my golden ticket both lost 2 days of time while I slept for 8 hours.

what can you buy a monkey?
and around how much are they going for?

irish, they are in the item mall only now.
Morbid - the monkey is good for 30 days whether you are online playing (stalling, fighting or whatever) or not. As for the ticket it only ticks down while you are fighting (or getting hit) and in a distribution party.

It's worth it in the long run, in my opinion. Without the monkey picking up my drops - like tohers, I try to be considerate while playing - and I would have missed an SOS drop from a demon horse when I got slammed by several of them at once.
As far as the gold ticket ticking away only in combat. 'd have to say that I have noticed that it does tick down anytime you aren't in town. For example, I was down to the very last bit. I was in the seconds count down, obviously wasn't going to make it out anywhere to make it useful. But When I left town and was out amongst the elements, it began counting down again. The only way I was able to see this is when it was in the seconds and gave the actual changing numbers on the countdown.

Monkeys are definitly worth it, especially for nukers and archers, so you don't have to run over to pick things up. In fact, you never have to pick things up no matter what build you are. So once you get one, you'll always want one. The monkey handles it all, and is an expert forager for gold, it picks up about 10-15k gold on a trade run for me...I've also had it pick up elixirs that weren't mine before. All you have to do is clear it's inventory once in a while, it holds 21 spaces of items. No SOS as yet, but few people leave chests just lying there anyway.
Oh and they are also transferable between characters, just unsummon it back into the scroll, put it in the storage, then come back with another guy and summon it again. The timer is not affected.

At the silk road website main page look at the top. THere is a button for item mall. I'd suggest you click it. THen you can see how to buy silk, and in item list you can find how much monkeys cost.
its really simple if you just look around
