Now recently ive being seeing alot of poppers on the road wile trading and Got away from all of em ^_^

and thought i might write a guide

So Here goes

What is a 1 Star Popper

A 1 Star Popper is a payer thief who uses expoilts (Gltiches Etc Etc) to Rob one star trader by having his npc kill you while having the comfert of sitting on his ass and watching u die. when your goods are on the floor he will take them and be on his merry way

Settting Off On Your Trade Run

Now when Setting off remeber these things

1. ALWAYS Use a Horse NOT A CAMEL.
Camels may have lots of hp and can carry more goods but there slower then horses. Poppers mostly use horses (they use camels if there complety stupid ^^)

2. Bring Plenty Of Horse Recovery Kits


How To Spot a One Star Popper

Mainly Just player thiefs on transport
but if u spot a thief on his own he may be a scout and call his freinds to come get u

How To Avoid One Star Poppers

Really The best way to avoid em ive found is to stay off the roads and take the long way to the west ferry (yes this means going round or though the stonghold but whats more important ur life and goods or speed

If the Worst Does Happen And Popper Spots You RUN
And Do not Stop

if the poppers Transport Get infront of you then your screwed But if u make a Sharp 180 Degree Turn and the thiefs not looking u may be able to get back in front and stop the npc thiefs form spawning attack your transport insted they will attack his

Another Way If the popper is using a Camel Or Fire ox u can use ur horse to out run him and get in front thus losing him and he gives up

if a popper spots you and hes using a horse and your infornt Keep going and do not stop eventuly like all noobs they will give up

its even simpler then that stay off roads and if you see a thief on a horse/camel you got time to move away always

make friends, make a lot of them. they can save your life...& get revenge

Your forgetting one kind of 1* popper, the ones that are capped. They sit in the middle of the road with a Fire Ox. I think they are hilarious because very few people can kill them.

They seem to love it on Troy near the Eastern Ferry road entrance on Jangan side. Always see one or two high levels just owning all traders going though.

Its probably because we're too high to get 1* popped .

but..

when exactly do npc thieves spawn? i thought they spawned randomly?

or do these npc thives always spawn when a player thief is near a player trader?

I am a thief and also a popper. I make much money with it, I just sit on a horse kill them and I have than at a time 4* than I just search a big group of traders I just walk in them when my 4 thieves spawn they will attack them all I kill my horse make a camel and go pickup the goods till my camel is full.

the rest of the goods I pick up another time (or not).

than I start scrolling but I am still popping with my camel cuz I pickup that goods later so I am scrolling with 5* and I am still following big groupes of traders and they all die. when I am in Bandit Den I sell all my goods and run back on a horse too that spots. and do the same thing over and over and over..................

So I can also pop with a camel.

1* popping at Lvl 34? now that is awesome, you must be very skilled

or is that sig outdated @ Elysium

sorry didn't update my siganture it is lvl 35 now but I made 2 million PROFIT (without horses, pots and pills) in 3 days...

I really like thiefing now. I know some high lvl people so they won't kill me (hunters) or they will give goods or help me (thieves). That also helps.

very nice guide, but besides of npcing there's another way to pop, that you didnt include any ways to avoid it, i'll write it down here hoping you'll it to ur post ......dont forget Adding a credit

ok, this method isnt as widespread as NPCing but i still lost my trade 4 times before i figured out what to do to stop it.

ok here it goes- ur doing ur trade run with ur trade horse when suddenly a player without thief suit, unjobbed starts attacking you, and becomes purple, attacking him will NOT inflict any serious damage at him, what he is hoping to do is to leave ur horse with a little bit hp then run and let the mobs finish it off for him. and then wait for his purple stats to vanish

now, there is NO way to save your trade horse, dont pill it, you'll have to hope he messes up and becomes murderer, meanwhile, attack him, and after he kills ur horse keep attacking him, DO NOT LET GO, the thief wont attack you and become murderer, if he does, you lost 0.05 exp but he wont be able to loot ur stuff and is probably gonna have his character messed up
just keep attacking untill u think he lets go of it, if u chase him like that for a while he'll reallise it wont work on you

just remember dont try to save ur horse you'll most likely fail this and that'll leave him time to run away and lose his purple stats

Careful when attacking offenders. If you don't manage to land a hit for more than 5-10 seconds, STOP, because his name will turn white again, and you will likely become offender yourself.

When thiefing the other day I ran into a red merchant, he must have killed a low level person as described above. I felt bad killing him and taking his loot, but no way would he have made it into a city anyways.

hmmmm...i have a theory.....not very likely though.......can anyone verify it?
if you get attacked by a thief (see my last post) , if you "Eliminate" your trade horse, will the thief still turn red or he'll stay purple?
if that thing works we've found a good solution for purpling
but this isnt very likely :\

btw hellsharpt that's weird why the heck would a trader become red O_o unlike thieves he cant loot dead ppl's goods...wierd
