your gonna have to show me some screenies or tell me
At step 7 many you are may be confuse. He meant that you need to YOUR item in itemdata.txt in media.pk2 file. To to this this a easy.
Step 1: scroll at the way to the top of the file and and put ur cursor in front of the first hex.
Step 2: do a search for this in unicode : item\etc\drop_ch_money_small.bsr
Step 3: do a backward search for this FF FE 31. This should bring you to the top of itemdata.txt in media.pk2
Step 4: Now do another unicode search for YOUR item !!! remeber to uncheck backward search !!!! For example: im doing 8th degree 72 spear, I search for this ITEM_CH_SPEAR_08_C
Step 5: Do another unicode search for 180000. It should look like this 1.8.0.0.0.0..0.0 <--- change this to 2. Save and test.
what do you mean scroll to top of file what file i scoll all the way to the top and i coundn't find it with a serch.
This was said a long time ago, this guide is crystal clear, with screens and everything... the only problem is that i can't make it work yet... not even after reinstalling...
But it's the same guide, just with screenshots and using XVI32 as the Hex Editor
When i try to replase the armour, it only replases de helmet, why does that happens? and somo times i change my blade 3 degrees to 9 and same the shield, but it doesn't work to me, i some times see people with the 9D but not me. pls help
Gh0zT57 wrote:Ok i Found the FF FE 31 00 09 thing... now when i do this: {Edit}{Paste From} Select my modified chardata {paste}
It says an error...
Open your chardata in the hex editor first. Right click -> Select all -> Copy.
Open Media.pk2, find FF FE..etc, place your cursor right infront of FF, go to edit, select "Paste Over". If it doesn't have the 'Paste Over' option, you have to download the HexEditor121 that was supplied by someone..I forget who ><
Thx, but the error go away some minutes later, lol
I know this was looong ago, but maybe you had your characterdata.txt opened in another HexEdit window, that's why it won't let you paste it

Dunno about your 2nd problem!
Maybe, if he clicked "Replace" it replaced only one tier. So let's say he has a 2nd tier sword and the one he replaced is the first one, thaat's why only some people could wear them.
This thread seemed more appropriate, sry if the last seemed like spam. anyway can someone plz direct me as to how to always have the PK2 edited wind effect on + high gfx settings?

Did you inject it back into the Media.Pk2 file? That or corrupt files is the only thing I can think of.

He shouldn't need to inject back... this replacement with XVI32 is done in Media.pk2 itself so... meybe something went wrong hehe
Should check that Unicode is activated in both and the "Begin" option is checked.
