[GUIDE] Keep your account safe from "hackers".

Post by firefox6 »

Any one who reads this..
Use The Email Verification System.
Your email can not be changed.
The only way to change your pass it to have access to your email account.
If they have access to your email account then your just funked.

Also if you have a some what shity password change it change it to 8 to 12 chars long using numbers and letters.
Never give out any of your info(password, user name, email, real name)

Trust no one!!!!!

There maybe bugs with joymax code, but, the "hacker" needs a part of your info to find the rest. if they have nothing then your safe(for the most part, read on.).

Chances are the only way someone will get "hacked" is really from a key logger(sro loader, fake bot/free bot, zoom hack, multi-loader,).. Don't download anything for sro that is not on http://www.silkroadonline.net in there download section.

Just know that your never safe from a "real hacker" but the chances are slim. he/she would need to hack joymax's database, witch is not anywhere near easy to do. If that happens we all will get hacked along with you.

If anyone else has something to add do so and i will add it, if it fits.

I tried confirming my e-mail before on the Joymax portal....

On Silkroad.net it says that my email is already *********@****,but when I go to the Joymax home pg. and log in to confirm it..it says it's already being used?

Same here, recently I actually tried to use the portal to change my password but it wants me to get set up on the e-mail verification thing first... so I thought ok, maybe it's safe now. But when I input my email address (the same one I used when I originally created my SRO act) it tells me "invalid e-mail". I've tried using several others that I have but still doesn't work. This is probably the wrong site to post all this on but if anyone has any tips or suggestions, please share! :)

This is a theory I'm having, but I'm thinking accounts which set up the verification before the portal exploit may have had the verification removed without saying that the email is no longer in use. I dunno. Because my alt account (which was my original before I made a new one) was hacked recently, and the email was changed; and I had done verification on it... BEFORE the exploit.
