To have the book at 1st try, give him wine in this order (make sure u have all type of wine and 50k):

1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 1 -> 5 -> (if he ask for more wine) ask for book

Try alternating between chinese (C) and european (E) liquer. Like:

C - E - C - E - C until he asks for the book.

I got pointers from others and their "method" for doing this but i believe just like everything, its pretty random.
