Operational Map quest problems...ugh

I'm not getting any maps.
Well, I'm not getting anymore maps.
I have to get like 20, and I've spent 3 days killing archers while I was doing my tiger quest and I've only gotten 3 maps. The maps I got like near the beginning of the quest, every few archers I killed a map drop, then I suddenly stop getting maps.

EDIT :: Now nothing is dropping from the archers, not even $$.

I thought I was killing the wrong bandits so I switched to subordinates, no change. Help? :banghead:

It is bandit archers you want to kill. The catch is, you must have the hit that
takes the bandits last HP or the kill doesn't count for you, and you wont get
your quest item. This is a long quest, keep at it. Not every archer kill drops
a peice of the map. You may need to kill many of them just for 1 peice.

also: make sure you're killing bandit ARCHERS and not bandit BOWMEN. the archers are dressed in orange and are aggro, the bowman are dressed in gray and are passive.

Last HP? I thought I did get the last hit, being that I'm the only one attacking the archer most of the time.

if you're theonly one attacking a mob, then it isn't a problem. the only time that would be an issue is on, say, a giant or champ, if you were gangbanging it w/ other chars :)

I make real sure I'm the only one attacking the archers, even going to the point of finding a seculded spot and just dropping mosters left&right.
And I haven't been getting anything from them.

Will not finishing this quest prevent me for doing any other quests?
Because after I got my award from the Tiger quest, I went to the stablekeeper and blacksmith, and neither of them gave me quests.

I guess I'll have to keep on whacking archers.

I was doing that quest with my brother two days ago.....i colected 13 operational map before he could even get 3 (he started before me) so it is really a question of luck...just hang on and continue killing the bandit archer (a good spot is west of the moutains that are est of the stronghold)

In my opinion the best spot for this is right in the middle of the mountain stronghold up on the second level of that middle structure.. They spawn like crazy up there and if you are ever in need of resting you go to the very top and no archers or anything go up there.. It's in a sense a safe haven, unless someone brings up an archer or bandit that was following them.. I finished the operational map quest in about 20-30 min up there just because of the rapid spawn of the archers.
