SP Farming.

Post by Dragonshiem »

Hi All. Ive already done a search on the forums about SP farming and im also new to the forums.
Just a couple questions here and was wondering if anyone can answer them for me.

I know that mad crackpots in Korean gain 30k SP before playing.... and i might go give a try myself
I personally want to create a new Archer or Fire Glaive

1) What is the best method to get to 30k exp. I might give it a try and see how long it takes.
2) As far as I can tell if you die enough times you can delevel (correct?)
3) Assuming (2) is avaliable...So lets say im level 9 and 1 mastery... (9level difference)
I should.... Delevel when I hit 10 to maybe 5 or something and start farming all over again????
4) Weapons.... Lets say at level 9 i get a new weapon to speed up the killing I cant really delevel unless the weapons arent level bound.

Thanks for your time.

Also.... from my questions you can tell I havent played at all yet. lol
Im at work now and want to start tonight when i get off!!! 8 hours to go!!! >.<

ITS MY BIRTHDAY TODAY AND IM GETTING SRO CLIENT!!! BEST GIFT EVER!! >.>

1. 30k xp? you mean sp xp? Just farming, slowly slowly farming or torquoise or white mobs
2. Yep you can delevel
3. You can do that. Or just raise your mastery level by one so your difference is 9 again
4. Thats why raising your mastery level is better

Im at work now and want to start tonight when i get off!!! 8 hours to go!!! >.<

Here let me break this down..

if your Max mastery level = yoru current level you will get a boatload more exps then skill exps. The lower your max mastery level, which is the highest of any of the masteries you've put skill points into, then you start getting proportionally more skill exps and less exps.

At a 6 level difference between your max mastery and your level then you get an equal amount of exps versus skill exps. It's a 1 to 1 ratio. Too me, this is the best to stay at.

Why? I did this so far:

Went from level 1 to 10. Not to hard with quests and mobs are really easy to kill. Since the exps needed to level for this range is really low, the lower exps you start getting doesn't matter.

At level 10, you start getting more difficult quests to kill bandits and tigers. At this point you will really need to put points into your masteries to 5 to get an imbune. You'll find it is nearly impossible to kill stuff unless you are completely decked out in SOS gear and burning potions like mad. for health. So at 10, I bumped my mastery of choice to 5 so I could at least get an imbune. This made everything much easier.

At this point I tried to go back to a 9 level difference. I went to level 14 without putting any more points. This took much longer then going from 1 to 10 but it wasn't too bad. Just about 8 hours or so worth of work with the quests.

Then I hit a wall once I hit 14. I was kill monsters higher level then me and getting like 30 exps or less. This was like a .01% if even that per kill. It means I would have to kill thousands if not tens of thousands of monsters just to level to 15. I couldn't envision myself spending up to 20 or 30 hours just on one level. Also, the total experience you get is less at that difference of master to level gap. I was getting 30 exps and like 175 skill exps in a full group of 4 per kill on monsters 1 level higher then me. At this point I decided to spend some points and brought my skill mastery up to level 8. What a difference! I was getting 165/165 exps/skillexps. The amount of skill exps I was getting wasn't that much lower and the amount of exps I was getting was THAT much higher. My overall exps between normal and skill was the most per kill at this difference.

So right now, I'm sitting at level 18, a mastery level of 12 in all my skills of choice and I have about 2200 skill points to spend if I want to. To me this is the best route to go when skill point farming. You don't waste exps, time, and crap.

Personally I think you'd have to be crazy or play the game 15 hours a day for a couple weeks to get 30K sp.

I'm at 2K and I've just about had enough of it. :P

I'm ready to get on with the game.

Crazy? Yep!

Let's do some calculations shall we?

400 skill exps per skill point.

30,000 skill points = 12,000,000 skill experience

If you are level 16, in a full distribution group of 4, and using a 9 level gap then you should be getting 230 skill exps per kill.

So you need 52174 kills to gain that much exps. Lets assume you used a SOS or SOM level 16 bow to reduce time and give you 1 shot kills. This should allow you to kill 1 monster per 4 seconds. This allows for time to find a monster to shoot and skill recharge. Your looking at spending roughly 58ish hours straight kill purely grinding mobs to kill. This doesn't take into account the time needed to head to town to resupply, sell off junk, and travel time. This could easily be a 70 hour venture.

Now, lets take the average real gamer. They go to work for 8 hours. Slee for 8 hours, do other stuff like eat, use the restroom, travel around, shop, run errands and spend roughly 4 to 5 hours per day playing. So 5 hours a night on a 70 hour venture will take you 14 days.. or two weeks.

Enjoy the next two weeks skill point farming!

but don't forget. i bet half of 52174 kills will already make you level up. and after you level up, you don't get as much SP from the same mob. either you're gonna have to delevel, or move on to a higher mob. besides, later in the game, mobs give you alot more SP. about 400 SP if you have 9 level gap in the level 20s or so. so one kill = 1 sp.

i have diff of 7. @ lvl 21

i roughly get about 1 sp every two kills.

3800 skill points here.

I have a difference of 9 still at level 19. I get just over half a skill point
per kill. I easily play 16+ hours a day and have been at it for well over a
week now and have 9800 SP. Level 13ish in the Ch'in tomb killing stone
ghosts was some of the most efficiant farming (most points per hour).
Also around level 16-17, the bandit camp is good. In between these hot
spots, you will spend days at a time grinding through different monsters.
I grinded Yeohas for a long time. The only de-leveling I did was at level
11. I dropped 60%.

Some pics of my journey.

My first suicide to delevel.

Image
I killed stone ghosts so long, I was totally sick of them. So I started
grinding Yeohas.

Image
My need for a break from grinding lead me to climb to this spot. After I
found this, I started exploring all over western China and found some
great places.

Still grinding on Yeohas.

4000 SP!!

I love these shots.

Image
I concentrated on hunting Giants for a while to keep my mind off the #'s
and that worked really well. Made it through another level.

After that we had the Monster Mash Event which also was a slight distration
from time to time.

One of my favorite screenies...nice night time shot =)

Well, glad I could share.
