The SRF Union: Part I - Guilds

Hi guys!

I'm sure you've all realized we've had talks of a union consisting of guilds from SRF formning on Hercules. Now I see that KeyJ's guild has decided to stay, and HeLLioN's guild is formed, I want to make this plan into something more realistic.

The whole idea is, we want to have a strong, legitimate and fun-loving guilds who have members from SRF to be in this union for the Europe expansion. The guild doesn't necessarily have to be FROM SRF, we can do some recruitments in game as well. From the past, I've seen legitimate players quit because they couldn't find a 'home' for themselves in whatever server they played. The 'SRF Union', lets name it for now, will allow everybody to get a opportunity to be in a guild that suits themselves with promised future.

Guild in Union

SRForce (lead by KeyJ, cin, and Karlos)
ChaosFaction (lead by HeLLioN)
Nemesis (lead by greecemilly myself)

Guild leaders, if you or your members raises any objection to being in this union, please kindly let me know and I'll put your guild away. I personally don't mind any of us 'leading' the union, after all, all the guild leaders will work together to make the union possible, so it shouldn't matter too much.

I'm hoping that having this list of already established guilds, we can attract more legit guilds to play on Hercules and be part of us. So if any guild seeing this post, feel like they could move to Hercules with us, please take your time and reply to this thread.

If all agrees the union to be made and is happy to be in it, I would like to propose some extra things.

Union Vent/TS:

We already have a 'SRF Vent', if the admins of that vent server doesn't mind, we have get our own private union channel. Vent servers are expensive these days, so there shouldn't be a need for us to buy one ourselves.

Union Site:

Some of you may already know, I'm current setting my hands on this. I would like all your inputs of whos in the union if you would like to see the site up or not. I understand we can get a private guild/union forum on SRF, but I personally feel the need for our private site where our union/guild-only information would go. Again, this is not final so do give your opinion on this.

I'm actually very excited about this project, as I already have a domain and a host ready to go. My current plan is that we'll have a private forum only accessible by union members, a customized page for each guild, dedicated to recruitment and for showing off how professional we are

Thanks for reading my block of text. I want to emphasize again, that I would like to hear from you, regarding the union plan. If you have objections, new suggstions, weird ideas, go ahead and give it away.

I personally have never used Vent myself, so I have o ask, is it hard to figure out?

I've used XFire and TS.

Also, the site sounds like an awesome idea.

Its not hard at all. Just push a few buttons and go.
I personally don't like vent tho.
I type faster than I say things.
Besides >_> I really can't talk and grind at the same time.
I never used Xfire chat system though, also they say having Xfire record teh hours u play SRO is bad because bad kids will know how "fat" your account is >_>

Vent is fairly easy to use, i can help u set it up but i also have TS and xfire i dont mind what u guys use

All I know is, Vent/TS servers are expensive. Especially if we have to hold 50+ people in this union.

Well, I have XFire and TS, so I'm fine with either of those. If we decide to use Vent, let me know and I'll download it.

Also..when will the site be up, if you decide to do it?

Well, I'll need some help.

Guild leaders should send me couple of SS when Europe is in, to put it into their page and they'll have to write up the recruitment stuff. Need a logo, I'm totally photoshop-noob. And that's basically it. We already have set up a forum, need to figure out a neat way to embbed it into the Content Management System.

Edit: Don't worry xD we won't have one of those sluggist looking sites. I'm in computer science, I can code but not photoshop xD

I'm pretty good with Photoshop I think.
I've been using it for about years now, and took a class on it.

I'll see what I can do.

Is there any way we can see a Beta of the site?

Also...I think the name SRFUnion is a good name for the Union.

I just want us to be more than just a bunch of nerds hanging around in Euro area doing 1337 stuff. I want us, esepcially the whole union to develop a tight community. That's the only way us legit players will keep on playing in SRO today.

Thanks Tetsu, I think I'll definitiely need some logo making <3 The site has a CMS so no HTML coding is required. As I said, I'm having a hard time integrating the forum and the CMS =.=

Hi, I am Robert and I am new to this forum site, I was curently on the forums from silkroadonline.net and i was told that this forum site is WAY better. And I was reading this topic and I thought that having a SRFUnion was a great idea..... I play on the server Hurcules and I am in a guild called Fear_This. and i am thinking of quiting because all the members rarely get on and some dont speak english. And I want to join a guild that has friendly members that are english speaking.. I was wondering if I could join one of the SRFUnion guilds...... I am farming at lvl 15 at the Bandit Stronghold...

=.= That's what the trend is today. Or I can get a standalone forum and use the forum as some sort of CMS =.= Even worse. As for page contents we have only a few guild pages. Vote for old fashioned HTML/CSS or go with CMS <3

Hi r0b3rt. Currently we have 3 SRF unioned-guilds and are currently sort of all full. If you can get a group of friends from your original server to make a guild on Hercules, great, or you've gotta wait for another guild starting, or you should probably wait until HeLLioN's guild or KeyJ's guild levels. *sigh* We have tight spots >_>

I think my guild is pretty much full until level 3.

So yeah rob3rt, your best bet would be to start a guild of your own. There are more than enough people willing to join.

I would like to make my own but, for me i think makeing my own guild would be way too expensive... Can't you maybe reserve a slot in one of the guilds for me? I'v always wanted to join a guild that has its own little guild forum page.

That's how to get vent working. If you have any questions, or there's a complaint about someone, PM me here please. I'll look into it, and be sure to give me the EXACT names of people in question.

This sounds deadly lads..i use to always come here lasty year when i actively played sro..and gave up because of the bots eventually

now ive heard euro is fianlly coming and the bot problem has went down alot

and now even better news of a srf union/guilds

i always wanted to play peeps that are on this forum..but never was able to as i was on rome

but now i see yous are all joining hercules

im probably too late now to join a guild..ill prob have to wait for yous all to reach lvl 2 or so..

i think im gonna go with pure int wizard..i was thinking cleric but then id be no use on my own trying to lvl..so wizard it is

ill be joining hercules on tuesday and hope to see ya guys there..

ps if there are any spots open in the guilds that are in the srf union and would like a wizard im your man

We (ChaosFaction) have around 20% GP and are currently having problems with active members. ATM we have about 10 active members, so only one party.....

Aswell, gold might be a small problem, but when ready, I have some cash from grinding with my Chinese guy.

Hey guys im in SRForce and i couldnt be more proud with my buddy KeyJ man hes my sro hero haha.. man me and KeyJ were PUMPED TO THE MAX waitign for the damn update to come out!! i stayed up till 4 and could barely sleep cuz they had an extention >.< but i had a little nap n man good times xD.. but yeah i love these ideas of our own forum and vent
