Warning CSRO user: Anti-addiction program will be effective

This is a prelimiary news. The detail has not be announced yet. This system is to prevent children from addicting to online computer game (cSRO in this case). This is a policy implemented by SM in reponse to the new legislation of the Chinese government. By the 13 July 2007, it will be intergated into CSRO.

For non-adult users (junior account), they can play the game for three hours continuously without penality. Then, they in-game reward such as exp, sp, money and item drop will be half between 3 to 5 hours of continous game-play. Player will not receive any reward after 5 hours game play, but you can still stalling or chatting normally. The system will be reset if the player logout of the game for 5 hours. The accumlated play time of all character in the same account will be consider as one single account. Therefore, you cannot fool the system by using different character in the same account (but you can have different account, by the way....). After the 13th of July, if you want to register a new account, you may need an legal identification document (this is an unofficial news, but it has been implement in other online games in China).

If you want to apply for an adult account, you need any legal identification document (For us, foreigner, passport, driving licenence may be used.) with you name which is the same as that you used to register your account and with the same day of birth. You have to make sure that you are older than 18 as indicated by your day of birth on the legal document. Then, you may have to fax or send a photocopy verison of the document to SM, the game company in China (not Joymax). Then your account will be converted into an adult account once your id is verified. If you cannot provide your id before certain day (has not been announced yet), your account will be considered as junior account and you will not get any in-game award after 5 hours of game play.

Before you jump to CSRO, please take this issue or inconventient into consideration. The pros for the Chinese severs is you can login almost 100%. Althought some of you experience terrible lag, the game runs fine for me and I am in North America. Keep in mind that I am a full int euro cleric and normal monster (white monster) can kill me in two-five strikes (I keep a 7 lvl gap and this is a risky move for euro character. It is risky because I cannot wear a good armor set for my char lvl) but I can still lvl solo easily... My lvl 27 character can kill a lvl 26 giant with modernate difficult (If I am careful enough, I can kill it without using a red potion). Thus, the lag is not that terrible. Friendliness of the players in CSRO is pretty good as long as you can type and read Chinese (This may be another barrier for you guys). If you are an English speaker, finding a group may be difficult but possible since some of you are already in CSRO (or you can try to find me....... :) , you guys are welcomed as long as you guys don't cause lots of trouble. By the way, my name in the game is different from this one and I cannot type Chinese in this forum, so leave you name and I will try to PM you. I am in div 1, Heaven server; 天堂 ).

If you guys have any question on the overall game-play environment in CSRO, please post it in the forum. I think the CSRO players are happy to answer your question.

I have heard about this, but thank you for clarifying the specific effects on cSRO. I think this will effect English players more than the Chinese players as you've stated.

You guys can go to the offical forum of the CSRO . In one of the post written by GM corresponding to the postpone of the sever maintainance on 11th July 2003, it clearly state that the maintainance was postpone because they are going to implement the anti-addiction system on 13 July 2007 (the deadline for intergating such system in the online game by law).

The detail of the system is still not clear but the statement that I post previously is a translation of some of the players' posts whose also play other online games in China. In the games which they play, this system had been implemented and they said that SM was very likely to implement the same system.

Well, all of us just need to wait for 1 more day (after 9:00 pm, 12 July 2007 Eastern time) and we will know the exact rules of the system.

Cheers,

It's not a problem with communism. Communism isn't a bad theory by itself. The problem is tyrannical governments.

No, that's what those governments call themselves.

Communist government usually doesn't actually adhere to communist principles.

Argh, no, it isn't. That is just how those are practiced. Just because someone practices Tae Kwan Do, and then tells you it's Judo doesn't mean it's Judo. There has *never* been a truly communist government.
