Hello folks!

I am here to say officially goodbye to every single private server of Silkroad Online. The private servers will soon be ruined (ecsro is already). The reason is that a new (new released, not actually that new) dupe bug has arrived. It really fu*** up everything. You can dupe most kind of items and there are people who have already made 1b + during this night.

I am sure the dupe is illegal and therefore I wont post the link here but well... you'll all find out sooner or later. Even though ecsro says that it will be fixed, it can never REALLY be fixed as the guy who released it, really knows some stuff.

So yeah.... that's about it. I can't see how private servers will be able to survive in the future - can you?

Wow, another bug exploited. I'm not even joking when I say that ECSRO completely fucked up after I left.

They did a rollback and has stopped the bug with a temporary fix until they find a real fix for the exploit.

Awww, when I saw the topic title I thought it was like something that joymax would stop all the private servers, and the bug exploit is posted in the eSRO thread. But it wont be good bye private servers, they probably fix it.

The problem is that they can't completely fix it! They will have to delete stallnetwork and the option to do an ordinary stall. If you find the thread at elitepvpers you will know why!

Indeed its sad. The guy at elitepvpers know how to do this bug with an ordinary stall too and it can always be injected etc. It seems that you'll have to delete the whole "exchange" and "stalling" option which will end up in being... what? at least not silkroad anymore....

Well, that means goodbye to private servers that work with stolen/bought/whatever files like ecsro, sjsro, swsro and so on. Not for esro, which will work with the original sro client only on a different server.

The reason they cannot fix it as it is an integrated client and server file issue. They have no experienced in either really.

I am sure its possible by editting the sro_client.exe with ollydbg (complicated stuff) you could stop the stall network search packet being sent, that causes the problem.

Only way THEY can fix it is reverting back to 1.091 or disabling stall, exchange forever.

But do not hope to see this fixed anytime soon with any of these private servers experience, even the best at people would not be able to solved this with compiled files.

Compiled server files just basically means the .exe's and whatever not the actually EDITABLE source code.

OT: im sure theres a way to fix it! it shouldnt be that hard! well considering the time that ECSRO gm's and pk2 team takes to fix anykind of bug then it will be fixed by 2012! but we wont be able to play much at that time! cuz we gonna die in that year!

tbh, i think the guy who found the exploit (and says he has further exploits) is just jealous of the money Ocean is making and is either trying to shut it down or get a piece of the cake

If i understand it correctly you can't dupe unstackable items like weapons and equips, therefore the extra gold doesn't seem to make much of a diff when most p.servers sell gold to their users anyway. Maybe the prem stuff might get out of control but who cares really?
