ECSRO Install Guide #10 (PLEASE STICKY)

NEWS: Im might create a tool, which can do this all for you, it will install the client and do patches, OR, I can make a program that will download the patches you need and install them for you. Please tell me whether i should do this


Heres a Full guide to Play on the F2P server Fembria and ecSRO.

Registering an Account
To Register for the Server, go here

Congratulations, you've registered an account. Now you need to download and update the client

Downloading and Installing
Download this client.

Be Patient it is about 500 MB and will take time to download.
Heres instructions on how to install client

Open the file downloaded named "ecsro_client_setup"
>Click Next
>Click Next
>Click YES or Next
>Click start
>Wait for it to finish and exit out

The client is now installed, however there is three more steps. You need to update the particles.pk2 and install Patch001, and Patch 002. The links are below,

Extract the particles.pk2 first into the ECSRO directory.
Followed by Patch_001, and Patch_002.

You have now installed ECSRO and installed all patches

Just a quick advice. Shouldn't they back up their media.pk2? I did it because i don't know, that's how I've known to do it.

Why, were not editing anything. Just replacing with the new media.pk2. Without it ecSRO wouldnt work.

>Make Sure Create A Desktop Icon is selected
>Click Install
>Wait for it to finish and exit out

The client is now installed, however there is one more step. You need to update the media.pk2 file. The Link is below

Extract the Media.pk2 into your ECSRO folder and you done.
You have successfully registered and installed ecSRO


PS:
To open the media.pk2 RAR file you need a program called "WinRar"
Which can be found at http://www.rarlab.com

the link for the client download leads to filefront.com home =\. and when i copied sraecsrosetup and searched it, i found a file with 408 mb, and i downloaded it and after i installed the thing, this came up:

Same rates as ecSRO. Only thing is like a newer server so less competition and more people reaching cap and doing their own thing.

I try to run it, Select a server and a get a stupid Directx 9.0b error.

I got Directx 10, And can run normal sro perfectly.

This is pissing me off lol, I wanna play! <Feans for it>

Yes i use vista and tryed the run admin trick.

Sucks though, No account to play ECSRO =/ ( Only on Fembria, And thats not open till feb they say )
