Battle arena is an arena to battle. (you don't say)
You register at the battle arena NPC and you are teleported to a small area where two teams fight each other and kill mobs to end up with the highest number of points. Obviously, higher number of points wins. Winner gets 5 to 7 coins (from my experience so far) and loser gets 1 coin.

As for the 5x gear, you don't need it as you should be outleveling it quite fast. Just 0 gap to 70.

That, its a high difficulty fgw. Easier fgw is flame mountain, but you don't get as good gear in flame mountain, i think it only drops rings, shoulder and head.
